  2. Hey Josh. Welcome to Quadcrazy. There are a few different relays on that bike. One is dedicated just to the neutral operation that brings the light on. Have you checked that relay? Also the relay brings in a few other relays as well so you have to make sure that all relays have a power supply 12v going in and a ground going in as well Power to the relays allows them to close and complete ignition and starter circuits. So if your handy with a tester I can help you through it. Also you said you tested the neutral safety switch? There is a wire on that switch. Take a look at the diagram it’s indicated as “Sb”. That wire essentially is grounded when the bike is in neutral bringing on the light. Put a jumper from ground to that wire and see if the light comes on. And then go to all the relays and see if you have a 12v feed and ground wire going into it. Also have you tested the stator coil?

  3. What I did was take the 1/4 cable and replaced it with a high tinsel rope. I didn't find it at harbor freight but I used a climbers robe because even if a pulley bearing seizes it will still go up and down and be okay. If I remember. 4. I have teen agers and shovels. Hasn't let me down yet. Lol But on a serious note, I use synthetic rope as well. Just for the spring back if it breaks with steel cable. Had that happen to my hand on a tow truck. Not pretty. Still going strong for 5 years. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

  5. The only thing is its supposed to be a high of -2 tomorrow and windy. How I dont know how well it will take that cold. My harley wont run in those temps, I'll be able to ride it for maybe 5 mins before I'm frozen. Hopefully I get a good idea.

  8. I agree with @Boozy you have to be careful. We all had this conversation with a recent topic that was posted on buying a used bike. There are priceless tips from the members that have been through the ringer. Some good and some bad situations. Take a look at that topic if you can and if you have any questions ask away. This is a forum you will actually enjoy. Tons of info here at Quadcrazy. Now aside from that I have to say you will be shocked with the speed of a bike like that. Don’t under estimate the power or the year of that bike. You will love it, especially if it’s in stock condition. Be sure to post some pics and even if there is no pink slip, a bill of sale with the vin# on it and the sellers name and signature is binding. You shouldnt have a problem. Good luck and welcome to Quadcrazy!

  9. Just be careful with what you are buying. At that age it could end up costing you more in the long run. Check the air filter first for dirt, if it is not clean chances are there may be dirt that got into the engine. If it stops working you will have to put money into to get it fixed and thus not getting your money back. Also make sure the person selling it provides you with the pink slip. No pink slip, no buy.

  10. the way Ive always done it: nobody cares about the 'safe' limit...thats just to cover there butts from being sued when an idiot tries to put a semi on it and gets killed. I always judged the limit by when the jack broke. For example, My shed/shop was settling in one corner about 3 years ago. Took my dads 2 ton jack and lift my (at that time) 8x10 shop up while loaded with tools. Jack leaks a little now but is still trucking..🤘 oh and btw the dad lives by this same standard. I wasnt the one that made the jack leak- He used it to jack up our kitchen sealing about 4 inches because of termite damage... two story house...upstairs lifted by a 2 ton jack and it lives to tell the tale...😎

  11. I seen that limit. The reason why I ordered it is I’ve seen it in person and it’s solid. I seen it pick up a 500 lbs bike with ease. Not saying that the seals could not blow out on the hydraulic pump but I don’t plan on leaving the bike on the lift while I’m working on it. I have something for that I’m going to post soon. I want this for getting the bike in the air and it will be coming out from under the bike as soon as it’s up in the air.

  15. There are after market kits to add that feature if you want. I found this kit online here. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Arctic-Cat-1000-250-300-400-500-550-650-700-Tusk-ATV-Horn-Light-Turn-Signal-Kit/292537799878?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I already had the quads wired with a horn so if during a group ride you need to get the rider in front of you's attention, its easy The only thing this kit does not do is give you reverse lights. I added that on my own with a small strip of white LED lights. The reason I did this is because of the Northcentral ATV project, we will be interacting with vehicles more, as township roads are opened to ATV use to allow making connections to different trail systems and towns. Most drivers do not understand hand signals so I figured adding this kit will make it better for vehicles to know your intention. Even now the connection trail from Snow Shoe Rails to Trails and Bloody Skillet ATV area uses township roads to make the connection so it does come in handy to be able to signal vehicles of your intentions.
