  1. It will lower the service life on your fan. Check the switch first. Might be a different problem. Also that is bike bandits list price. You can probably get one cheaper else where.
  2. Item 1 according to bike bandit. 2005 Suzuki Eiger Auto 4WD LT-A400F Parts, 2005 Suzuki Eiger Auto 4WD LT-A400F OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com
  3. I`d go for the thermo switch first. Check for continuity in and out of it cold. Open circuit good. Closed circuit bad. Looking at my 09KQ WDM there is not a relay in the control system. Just the switch and a fuse. What year is your Eiger?
  4. Nice day today, unglued the computer tablets from my kids faces and hit Knik river. My new 09 King Quad 450 on the right. Vintage 280 KQ hand me downs there after. Think I have my new avatar.
  5. Ive never taken one out. Manual says it comes off after diff removal. Can you pull the actuator out far enough to disengage the shaft from the diff? Good news on the lights at least. You`re getting close to the answer. There is an electric motor on it that looks like it can be removed. Don`t know whats in there. Could be springs, shims, and switch contacts that might fall lose. Your call if you want to try that.
  6. I buddy built these. The can be towed by a 4 wheeler. \\
  7. For something as old as your rig, you might find a good deal on ebay. But usually a good cleaning and rebuild solves carb woes. What is the specific trouble you are having?
  8. If you mean the differential lock light blinks, it means its stuck in transition. The actuator has been commanded but has not moved to position. First thing is to check wiring and clean connections to it.
  9. Arraaghhh! Is it just me or are other people burning through these starters? 91-98 280cc models. Just cracked open my wife`s 94 and the armature is shorted. Had to change another on my boy`s 93 because of worn splines a couple months ago. The spline shaft is part of the armature. So one has good splines but shorted and the other is electrically sound but bad splines. Yes, I know they are a couple decades old. I can get after market starters off ebay. Relatively spendy compared to teardown parts. Whats your experience with the after market brands?
  10. I think those were known as ducks. DUKW. DUKW - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Neat rigs. Never seen one though. Thinking about ATV engineering, how about a hover craft version?
  11. Oh, yeah! The quad ski. Maybe something a bit more rugged than this. Must be 4WD, low and reverse gears. Needs 4-wheeler land speed. Dosent have to be as fast on as a jet ski on water. Just stable and powerful enough to go up river.
  12. I`d pull the tensioner out and see if plunger is at full extension. Remove the cap and spring first so the spring doesnt push the plunger when you remove it.
  13. If you have oil up in the valve cams then your oil pressure is good. I`m still thinking timing chain. Is the tension adjuster working properly? Attached is a snap shot from the manual for troubleshooting engine noise problem.
  14. Oh, good on the grease. You know it inhibits electrical current flow. I know we're thinking spark problem, but how is your fuel tank venting?
  15. Nasty knock. Before I heard it, I was thinking valves but it would be a wicked loose valve to make that noise. It follows the throttle. Sounds like the timing chain is slapping up against the top of the head cover. When you had the cover off did you notice any wear markings on it? You said you re-timed it. Was it off? Would indicate the chain jumped and could mean a stretched chain or a problem with the tensioning components.
  16. "Put dielectric grease in all of them" Did grease the inside on the connectors?
  17. The first manual in OX`s sticky thread is for a 2005. I believe the model covers 2005-2007. Go to chapter 2 and review the periodic maintenance items. http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/suzuki-atv-forum/11118-2005-suzuki-king-quad-700-manual.html#post85042 Scan quality is rather low on that file and there are no bookmarks. I bought a manual from the link below. Cheap and you can download right away. They also mail you a disk. Clever marketing ploy too. Claim to be "green" because they don`t use paper. Yet sell stuff you can tear loudly through the woods with and burn all the fossil fuels you want. Brilliant. REPAIR MANUAL DOWNLOADS
  18. Congrats. Beyond what you said, check your brakes, examine the frame for bends and dents, make sure all the drive functions work, check CV boots for tears. Check the sticky in this forum for a manual. I will look at specs on this and report if I discover something else. What engine size is it?
  19. Lots of homemade types out there too you can find on ebay relatively cheap. The pic is on a 94 but frame is the same as yours. The upper attach points pick up stock frame bolts. Lower is u-bolts.
  20. It would mean either the fuel pump or tank selector valve are leaking through the vacuum diaphragms. Would need to replace.
  21. Does it play metal too? Seriously, this would be great for general camping also. Does it have a headset plugin or bluetooth?
