    no spark on a bike that age might be the stator, and the carb i'm sure would love to be torn apart and cleaned, even a rebuild kit for an added touch ... i did the exact same thing when i got my '91 big bear ...

    when i started work here, there were only roads and the back rack erected ... since then, many holes were dug with vessels installed, thousands of piles driven in, and the majority of the racks put up. pretty cool project.

    if you can spray some carb clean in the bike while it is running would be good start. change the gas if it is old and add some fuel cleaner in the tank. if it has good spark it might be the carb being dirty ...

    ask a suzuki dealer, or call head office for technical advice ... ??

    more than likely the stator, but you could get a volt meter and narrow it down. could even be the cdi box ...

    yes, like Mudflap64 said, stay away from electrical boxes. my dad told me as a kid when washing/spraying anything with a motor, to have it running while doing so. i use the pressure washer to clean my bike and i let it idle and had no problems ... (knock wood)

    all i have is a 2005 500 carburated and a 2007 700 and 800 efi ... i'll look around for you ....

    more than likely yours is the asian model, straight from japan. usa models are somewhat different. you can go into the yamaha forum here http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/yamaha-atv-forum/11224-yamaha-atv-vin-number-decoder.html and run your vin # number to confirm ....
