looked on bikebandit . com and they list the same carb from '93 to '98 for the big bears. -

it would have been an easier descent had he had better brakes. he had little or no brakes here. the old drum brakes front and back are quite useless ... -

i have gone thru the hard copy of my manual for the grizzly and it really doesn't give a distinction between all the models and letters. fw = four wheel, nm = new hampshire and maine, fat = four wheel/auto trans ... i would go to the yamaha vin decoder here http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/yamaha-atv-forum/11224-yamaha-atv-vin-number-decoder.html and punch in your vin #. it will give you quite abit of info. the np could be where it was made, asian/overseas model or u.s.a.
