  1. I thought I was crazy carrying my golf clubs on the back of mine. Had a hitch and carrier on the back of the goldwing. Worked great really.
  2. A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I were running the logging roads on our land up North and decided one more run for the day before washing the rides down and heading home. The day was sunny, warm with temps in the mid 70s. I'm in the lead and my wife was following on her quad a bit of a distance behind me. The grass had grown tall over the few weeks since we were out there. We're riding a leisurely 10mph at most, enjoying the sunshine that filtered through the trees and seeing the deer and other wildlife. Low and behold, there before me where none existed before was a big puddle. I semi stood up to take it as it was too late to move around it. Dipped down, the quad stopped and I didn't. I did a lovely forward flip off the front of the quad, landed on the other side of the puddle but still in the mud, on my back. I slowly took stock ... hands moved, head moves, legs and feet move... check, all good there. For a moment i lay there wondering why the grass was blue. Oh yeah, that was the sky My wife is calling to me, are you ok? Gathered my wits and told her yeah, doing ok here. Got up and looked back. There was the quad, still running, buried up to the top of the wheels in a mud hole that had not been there a few weeks ago. Winched it out, took stock of any damage. The quad had a broken windshield, which was the extent of the damage. As for me, I had mud just about everywhere, my eyes, ears and nose. Ended up with some scrapes and bruises, one looked suspiciously like a mirror Got back to the motorhome, and basically stripped down to boxers, grabbed the water hose and washed off the outter layer of mud. Took a lot of Qtips to clear out the outer ears I tell ya. So, anyone have some good stories to share? I'm all (clean) ears.
  3. I need to get my lovely bride to sign up here and post in the ladies area. She loves riding her quad.
  4. Doesn't load, I'm from Sheboygan County and Shawano County areas in Wisconsin.
  5. Are these codes for referrals, etc still valid and up to date? I'm about to put up a blog for our ATV adventures and will include link backs.
  6. I'm not worried either way, however, it's good to see activity. Keep the board moving, lets get some great posts and info out there and then we'll see growth i betcha
  7. That's our feeling, but the Can am fit us best for our riding style. When asked, I tell folks to select the machine by riding one. It' the only way to really know. What is right for me, is not right for another usually.
  8. I agree that Garmin is the leader, at least in my own opinion. I'm curious as to what models anyone is using and why. I'ts going to be used for ATV'ing, maybe hiking and of course geocaching.
  9. I've been thinking of getting a GPS unit for the ATV, I do like to see the trails and curves and see where a lot of the road trails will take me. I'm partial to Garmin. Any suggestions? I'd like the following: Be able to download and install topographical and trail maps to the unit Use it for Geocaching Thanks
  10. That was some nasty flooding. Friend of mine drives city bus there and she was flabbergasted by the flood and devastation. Hope all were and are still safe.
  11. Waves from Wisconsin, travel between Sheboygan and Shawano counties. Most of my riding for now is Shawano, Langlade, Oconto and Forest counties.
  12. I've test driven most of the brands and found the can am more to my liking. From the Can Am perspective, it has a 12" clearance which is nice for logging road trails and riding, plus it rides well on the Max which is their two up machine. If you can, try them out on trails and see which suits your riding style best. Everyone is different in how they ride of course
  13. :ola: Hi and welcome from Wisconsin - USA.
  14. Top of the day to ye all. Off to see the dentist, my least favorite thing to do. Rainy and cool here today, kinda nice really.
  15. Agreed. Nice to be able to scan threads and see those of interest or ones I might be able to chime in on to help.
  16. My can am dealer also carries Yamaha and kymco. He feels the kymco is ok as a lesser expensive unit. My wife and I were fortunate to attend a VIP event in Wisconsin last year. We tested almost every major players units in trail conditions as opposed to a small grassy area at the dealership. We opted for can ams and are very happy.
  17. I like the collapse feature, especially when using a tablet.
  18. Suggest double checking the ground as well.
  19. Cast my vote for quadcrazy Second place right now...
