  1. Hello everybody, I need some advice on buying my next utility ATV 4x4. Ive narrowed it down to Arctic Cat, Yamaha, Polaris, or Can Am. Im wanting something with a 500-850 motor. I def do not want a 1000. They just seem too big and heavy. I am 6ft-5in tall and medium build. I currently drive a 1998 Yamaha Big Bear 4x2 350 and its simply too small for my body size. I also own a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4 which fits me quite nice and has a comfortable large seat. My wife loves driving the Popo since its automatic, so I get stuck driving the Yamaha if she tags along for ride since its semi auto shift. Id like to trade up the Big Bear for a larger, reliable, capable, trail and mud machine. I must have 4 wheel drive and IRS. I like the reliability of Yamaha, but I must admit my Popo rides quite smooth. I just really dislike the Polaris CVT belt noise and the lag time it requires to move atv after u punch the throttle. I havent tested the new 2013 or 2013 popo sportsman to compare. Im not into extreme mudding, but my friends and I do snorkel our quads and drive thru deep water on occasion. So I would like an ATV that is water friendly, if there is such a thing. LOL! Ive pondered a can am xmr 650 but am worried the can am might be expensive to maintain or repair. I really like the look of the AC Mud Pro, but I have no problem modifying a base model to suit my needs. Whatever bike I buy MUST be large in frame size. I dont need gobs of power but I prefer a larger frame size. My Big bear and my buddys Honda Rancher are just too small. My butt actually hits the rear rack when I ride if I sit bk too far. Please share your thoughts, good or bad. I am not brand loyal, I just want a well made, larger frame bike for trails and some mud. Thanks!

  10. There is an exciting new place to ride... especially during the winter months up here. It is called The Sandbox arena in Richland Center Wisconsin. It opened in October 2007. I have not had a chance to even get up there yet but from what I have heard it is a pretty cool place. There is one full sized course and a childrens course/beginners. They have a capacity pit area. Anyone interested should check their site just google sandbox arena. The course was co-sponsored by Amsoil and Polaris is going to be using it for their winter proving grounds. Which means no more trips to Arizona in the winter with a playground in your own backyard. Any ways thought anyone from up here in this area would like to know about it. You all have a good day and hope the New Year brings you what you want.
  11. Just looking for others to ride with in the St Louis area. I have looking at several places here in Missouri and Illinois that aren't more than two hours from here. Who is out there?
  12. As a disabled rider, i was wondering if there is anyone else that hasn't let a disability stop them. Do you ride with someone who is disabled? What do you ride and what modifications were done to the ATV? What reaction do you get out on the trails? For me, I ride a Grizzly 700 EPS. I am missing my right leg and I modified the right foot brake so that I can still put pressure on it to shift the transmission lever. I also wear a special "leg" just for riding. I still don't do anything too wild, but I am getting more confident on my machine.
  13. Hi Dudes I am planing to provide ATV rides in my resort. I know that the riders need to sign a document for before the ride. any 1 can help me with a detail of such document or a link. thx a ton in advance. Sanjay
  14. Hey Gang.... Haven't been around much - I've been a busy li'l TomD the past few months... I had the great opportunity to be the event photographer for Dirt Fest, sponsored by the Pink Ribbon Riders and Sullivan County ATV Assoc./NY ATV Online. It's a charity event to support breast cancer survivors and those currently afflicted: Pink Ribbon Riders Dirt Fest 2009 I also had the distinct pleasure of riding with the incredibly real Brian Fisher and his awesome wife Melissa as they filmed for an upcoming episode of Fisher's ATV World. Brian and Melissa are just two of the most sincere, down to earth and "real" people that I've met in the ATV circles. I can't say enough good things about them both. Just WOW! That sounds awfully cliche', but I don't have the words to describe how great they are.... Here are a few pics from the event: The pink one himself: Brian with the Pink Ribbon Riders "Travel Bra" : Brian and me auditioning for Victoria's Secret (I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!!): A well deserved adult beverage after a long and fun day/ Me, Melissa, Brian: I'll have an album up soon....I have another photo shoot coming up and I now work 12 hour shifts, so I have no life!!!!!! Hope y'all are doing well! -Tom D
