  1. haha ok well I will get right on that. another thing- havnt touched and fluids yet- I was going to use the Valvoline oil for the engine? What for the tranny?
  2. Will it hurt it to just let it burn? If not, I'm probably gonna just sell as is because I'm at my $$$ limit on this bike...
  3. ok. my friend had some 50-50 antifreeze. Also he filled my gas tank up when we were at a gas station and topped it off. result: flooded out the airbox twice and hydro-locked twice. lol a day of one-and-off riding and it just now is getting to lower than a full tank. I smelled the exhaust when it was smoking and it does smell sweet. It also overheated once, but I was riding through the woods in low gear(high rpm) and only about say 5mph. Let it sit and it was fine. It wont overheat period when I'm going faster than a crawl. What I'm wondering is if I switched back to the fuel pump, would that help with flooding? and should I fix the head gasket or just sell as is?
  4. awesome thanks! I'm going riding at a friends house today... maybe I should pick up some antifreeze beforehand? its a little below the 'min' line
  5. ok so it seems it might have have a bad head gasket?? Its smoking white smoke when cold (starts a minute after initial(cold) startup, then quits after about 3 minutes). I smelled it as it was coming out and its smelless. Maybe just condensation? It sure gushes tho..when cold. Thing that got me thinking it was antifreeze was the level in the viewing window was low. But I also didnt check it until I noticed the smoke or condensation or whatever it is... Also what should I put in for antifreeze?
  6. yep. when selling a bike, always pays in the long run to be honest. ...and other places in life too. always pays to be honest
  7. yea, that wagon has been through hell and back. used to do drifts with it on the driveway... both me and my brother when he was small. Its got a new back axle (we broke the old one) and I broke the steering out of it and had to fix that... its a ton wagon too- rated up to 2000 pounds.
  8. haha good point. the only reason I assumed it had one is it dies if you peg it from a stop. like not bogs, dies. but if I floor it after getting going, it hooks and goes.. My friend told me before getting it that I would hate it cause it had a 'rev limiter'. first time I had heard of them. I'll post a pic on my thread.
  9. the bolt pattern is the main issue- as far as I know, atv brands have the same bolt patterns among the models- so you couldnt take honda rims and put in on kawasaki.... But I would say yeah, go for it! Worst case, you might have to buy some spacers to keep the rims from rubbing your brakes... dont know about that.
  10. I would go Polaris- dont know anything about tracks tho. I'm in VA- not much snow. I know that 28" mud tires do good for snow unless your belly rubs, then you're stuck. I would get a polaris highlifter and throw a 2" lift on it and then tracks...for snow, I know I would hate to use tracks on the trail cause I cant stand going slow.
  11. I didnt see anything. There is something coming out of the exhaust on my bike that I was going to take apart and look at- seems almost like a valve....
  12. I got a 110cc Taotao. Any idea how to remove or bypass the stupid rev-limiter?? and where is it usually?
  13. extremely helpful!! Where do I get these online? Amazon? How do I know which kind to get for a specific bike?
  14. if its backfiring, doesnt that make it too lean? And turning the air screw in would make it richer right? @Frank Angerano, is 2-1/4 turns out from snug generally the starting point for adjusting a carb?
  15. @Frank Angerano, what do you expect the bill of sale to look like? formal and what goes on it? Do you have a template?
  16. are they made in the usa? ...or just another china brand to fix daily 😴
  17. fair enough. I do agree the older hondas held up well. I think polaris was still getting its act together in the 90s- the switched and changed a bunch of stuff in 2000. I think the post 2000 bikes hold up great. (main thing I think was the axle joints wore out faster on the 90s bikes.
  18. I dunno........ Polaris hasn't let me down (nothing I didnt cause myself anyway) kawasaki.........crap as far as I've ever seen. Every kawasaki I've ridden so far has issues and are hard to fix
  19. yeah I have one on there off of amazon. I'm thinking it blew a sp- but very well could be a cdi. haha yea I'm selling this bike as soon as it runs
  20. this is an awesome way to put it, although I would argue that polaris outdoes the others in all areas except putting along- they are work beasts can-am is overrated.
  21. I love polaris for their performance- and also 90% of the issues I've had out of this bike, I caused: Hooked the battery up wrong and blew the ecm, pod and speedo, didnt reseal the flywheel cover and locked up all components in there, blew the axle by dropping out the strut when I put in the lift.... broke the float on the stock carb and had to order a new one...... the only thing I didnt cause was the bushings and the battery, but this bike was ridden by youngsters its previous life, flipped, and left outside. If anything, this bike has sold me on polaris because its taken the abuse sooo well. also what got me going on polaris was to watch my friend beat the crap out of his 500 and it didnt give him a hiccup... (of course parts went out on it here and there like any other older bike)
  22. But that wont get all the crap out of the bottom of the engine will it??
