  1. another thing I love about the highlifters is that they have their winch mounted high so you dont have to go swimming to get the winch out when you're stuck in a mud hole... on those canams you posted, the winch is the first thing underwater haha
  2. so its just running the battery dry and the pod doesnt show a low voltage sign or check engine light or anything?
  3. I had a bayou 220 that I was working on that had a junked, and leaking carb- replaced with an aftermarket for $20 off amazon- works great, but aftermarket carbs are hit/miss. btw, does anyone know if the plunger carbs on atvs have compatible butterfly carbs that can replace them? Every atv that I've worked on so far with a plunger carb has/had a idling issue where it wont idle cold, but idle speed increases with engine temp and races when warm....? Anyone know why? (by plunger carbs, I mean the carbs where the throttle cable hooks up to a 'plunger' that slides up and down to adjust flow into the engine vs the butterfly carbs where the throttle cable attaches to a butterfly gate that opens flow into engine...)
  4. yes the decompression lever should take the stress off the pull cord- lol I know how it is to pull the cord without it decompressed- not cool I found that on my bayou 300, it had a half worn out clutch and it liked it adjusted in (tighter, or engaging at lower rpm) than the manual spec of turning the screw in till tight, then out till snug. Mine liked it in tight, then out a couple turns but not snug.
  5. this was true with mine too- but that would just be caused by the compression stroke- shouldnt be the case with the spark plug out.
  6. I would agree with @Frank Angerano, Aftermarket just dont give the full performance that oem carbs do- but they will work. I put them on bikes I plan to flip and so far, have had success with them. If you are looking for a cheap fix, go aftermarket, but its kinda hit-or-miss with china.......no offense..
  7. the radiator relocator is useless to you unless you plan to mud or go deep in the snow- I would buy one of those (polaris though) in a heartbeat if I had the cash, but they are mud atvs- the manufacturer had one goal in mind: MUD.. I think I wouldnt like the loss of front rack usage, but I love the look (to a certain extent- If the radiator is too high up that you cant sit down and drive but have to stand on the bike to see over, thats pretty stupid) - I like the way polaris built their sportsman highlifters: sorry those pics are small- they came right off images lol
  8. worth it for atvs...haha I was wondering which campground you guys were planning on staying at..?
  9. My dad wants to know all the details about what campground to register at and all the other goodies in how this works... We'll probably be there IF another event doesnt happen- all up in the air right now..
  10. not bad. so what are you guys doing for overnight? that campground...? I know there are others the website gave..
  11. If im not mistaken, you cant find aftermarket ducts...not sure though- they are stupid expensive- for my bayou, it was $40 for a peice of rubber wish there was another alternative to run to...
  12. not good- I would replace it- i guess it depends on where its located- might be able to melt it together with a blow torch or something...
  13. thanks, but I was planning on buying another helmet at some point- might as well now! also I went to the website and just looked over everything to see what it was all about.. ok if I was wearing sunglasses instead of goggles? (these would be safety-sunglasses) I'm interested in coming- will see what our schedule is like..
  14. gotcha. I would have to get another helmet for my dad and neither of us has goggles or boots lol so how many are planning on going so far?
  15. you think it might also be a spark issue? I had a tiller engine (briggs and stratton) that would die under load, then it started dying seconds after start up- found a cracked spark plug head- gonna replace it and see if that fixes my issue- maybe yours too?
  16. I'll have just turned 16 a couple days before haha. Yea I knew that there was probably gonna be a sign-your-life-away form to cover their butts.. anything else? how much is it?
  17. so if I were to come, do I need to make arrangements before hand or is everything done on-site?
  18. Ima ask and see- would love to come out..maybe if I get this polaris 335 and fix it up me and my dad could come...
  19. never heard of this happening but thanks!
  20. yup that and if you let them sit on it for long enough, they realize they cant get that much for it and drop price... Thats what happened with the sportsman 335 that i'm hoping to get- guy had it up for 1600- I let him sit on it for over a month and now he's down to 950. I'm going out to look at it saturday in a van (no way to get it home) and act non-interested in it but say 'let me think about it'.....then offer 800 again or less if theres other issues with it and go pick it up later... not worried about it selling since he still has it posted at 1600 lol
  21. so that pic I posted of the sportsman earlier was before I got it fixed- now it looks like this: lol its dirty but hey... the first pic of the light bar on was during the day, next one was during the night, and last pic was of it torn down
  22. yea that was what I was thinking. At best I let him sit on it for a while and then low ball him... but yea it wont happen- we can still dream tho
  23. heres another bike I just saw- price is outrageous, but would be a great flip if he came down- what do you guys think? https://raleigh.craigslist.org/snw/d/raleigh-2007-polaris-sportsman-500-efi/6832564900.html it is over two hours away though...
