  1. nice @Frank Angerano! I just follow whats on the tire no questions asked lol they can hold a lot of air though- not recommended, I picked up my sportsman from my friend and one day decided to check the pressure- supposed to be around 10 psi (these are kenda executioners) and he had pumped them the 40 psi in front and 50 rear- needles to say I immediately let the pressure out down to spec...
  2. heh I can understand the mechanical side of atvs... still wrapping my head around the electrical side.. I guess I'm used to working on AC with my dad (general contractor).. just dont understand how the ins and outs work yet...
  3. does it have a bendix or a one-way cog with a chain to the crankshaft?
  4. I wouldnt bypass the tanks if its self mixing
  5. I could watch the vid. I'm actually working on a 350 big bear rn so this is interesting to me as I'm familiar with the bike now..
  6. sounds like a push button and carb issue to me. Have you cleaned the carb yet? maybe check compression, valve clearance, spark plug, timing while you're at it- could be factors
  7. that bike looks similar to the older polaris trail boss.. how much you pay for it?
  8. polaris will be higher maintenance- hondas good for a farm for towing and hauling, but if you're out trail riding with your buddies, the honda eats the dust. ride quality: Polaris. those machines are too smooth and bumps that would buck you on another atv, polaris just ripples through. doesnt shimmy on the road either- mine rides just like a car at high road speeds..
  9. yea im hoping it lasts till I can get them.....
  10. changed the spark plug....again- and it fires up then dies with starter fluid. gonna take the carb off and clean it again and see what that does. Compression is 120 pounds. I only have $100 in it so you all think if cleaning the carb doesnt work, then just sell it for like $200?
  11. no problem!
  12. no clue but you gotta love those gifs...
  13. haha ok thanks @Frank Angerano and @wanrep! give you an update soon the thing that gets me is when you push the throttle in, both cables pull- one twists the butterfly and the other pulls the plunger up.. I'm just curious who thought that was a good idea
  14. ok. first thing I do when a bike isnt headed the way the handlebars are pointed is get the handlebars straight, get off the quad and stand back from the front of the bike and see if one or both tires are pointed off the one side even a little. otherwise, I would check tire pressure, shocks, bearing... anything that would make one wheel roll different than the other
  15. might have to use this on some bikes here soon- im hoping to go look at these friday: https://roanoke.craigslist.org/snw/d/glade-hill-7-various-atvs-sold-together/6848482540.html guy said he would do $1000
  16. do the wheels look strieght as you're standing in front of the bike?
  17. a locked up wheel bearing can pull your bike right off the trail- was riding with a buddy on his old sportsman 500 and one of the stock front wheel bearings locked up seizing that wheel. had some trouble getting the quad out of the ditch.......... fortunately we weren't going super fast so nobody got hurt.. if the quad has ever been run into something, that can bend something and you just have to adjust the tie rod.
  18. yea I put a battery in backwards once....still trying to live that one down..
  19. welcome brother
  20. isnt there another fuse behind the air box? I know they is one of bayou 300s, not sure about the 220s
  21. yeah sounds like somethings gumed up or clogged. If the fuel pump isnt pumping fuel out when you crank the engine, its probably somewhere before that. is this bike efi?
  22. I just got one on amazon that was for the model. I will update everyone when it is in.
