I'm not sure on the Yamahas but my Kawasaki has a cvt belt and it can go into limp mode. I have not had this to happen but I have read up on it and the Kawasaki will run as if the reverse rev. limiter is on. But they can be reset. It may be worth checking into. I would also go back and recheck he carb. -

Is it spitting & sputtering out the exhuast or the carb. Do you here it popping back thru the carb? Have you checked the spark plug. -

I went to pull the carb off my daughters quad and 2 fuel lines were cracked. I thought easy day changed the lines O boy lets here it run I was wrong. So now it took me longer to get the carb off than to go thru it. It's all back togather now and running good. I love the sound of a 2 stroke I'm happy now!

For right now I unpluged the kebc on my quad and running in 4wd till I get the collar steering sucks in 4wd but it's better thn not riding at all.

Many days spent on the internet and to day it paid off. I ran across someone having the same problem. It' a part of the front actuator. It's rectangle shaped metal block know as a collar. I had found it and thought it was the problem but coul not find out if I could just buy the part and what it was called till today. This little block of metal is 25.00 I don't even thank it's 1\2" long. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It would be so nice to be able to buy a new quad. We never know how the used ones we buy have been kept up.

The only thing bad is 10 yrs. has passed and we still have American soldiers losing their lives. I feel they should also have their names listed at ground zero. I'm sorry if People don't like what I'm going to type but tuff. I think we should have someone in the White House to take off their lacey panties Grows some big balls an say the heck with rules of war and blow their friggen country off the map and bring our men & women home. We should not have to depend on the middle east for nothing.

That stinks! All I know about the blasters is their a real blast. But when you don't have a quad any of them at a good price can be fun Honda, yamaha, Suzuki, kawasaki, Power wheels. I looked at a blaster for 1,200 and then found my 4x4 prairie for 1,600. I needed a quad my wife could ride with me.

On kawasaki prairie it's under the seat. But like mario said trace your cables It may be easy to go from the battery. Your battery cables will go to the solenoid & from the soleniod to the starter If you go to remove the soleniod or starter from your quad make 100% sure you disconnect the battery first. If you do try to jump the soleniod with a screwdriver do not let the screwdrive touch the postive cable and any other metal of the quad just the soleniod terminals.

Thanks I did do that. I had read as much as I could find on the prairie & found also that they had the deal with Suzuki on the twin peaks 700.

Nope that hasn't happened yet. Thats when the post will read I'm sorry my husband can't type right now and his feeding tube has a knot in it The doctor said theirs a good chance he will not remember this site or how to turn on the computer.

I guess we all know what the 2 wifes talk about when there togather. You will never get to live it down. I learned already not to do that and I learned the hard way. She went to work and I went and traded her car for me a F-150 that was 8 yrs. ago and I had got her the car for christmas.
