  1. Most of these bikes have a reverse switch on the shifter side of the engine. You should find two wires that come out of the engine near the shifter. One is usually a neutral safety switch that indicates the bike is in neutral and is clear to start. The other is a reverse light wire that shows you on the dash that the bike is in reverse like @06kfx440 mentioned. When you put the bike in reverse that switch is grounding the reverse light and makes it come on. So in theory all you would have to do is wire a reverse light as so, positive wire connected to the battery with an in-line fuse (must have for protection) and then attach the ground wire from the light to that reverse light wire coming from your neutral safety/reverse light switch. Of course you would have to look at your bike to make sure it works the way I’m stating or your manual to show what wire to connect to but a tester can do that for you also. But each manufacturer is different but mostly all of them use the grounding type system. I agree with @06kfx440 about tapping your dash light but most of those indicator lights are super low amperage and may not carry the load of another light on the line.
  2. Is it possable that something got back into the carb after you cleaned it?
  3. It’s a carb adjustment most likely. Unless the smoke is blueish? Then it would be burning oil. If not then it’s just a matter of dialing the carburetor in. Try adjusting the needle on the main jet if needed but I would think it’s more of an air fuel adjustment. Be sure the choke is opening and closing properly. If it’s not opening all the way the carb will act up.
  4. Hey @orvilleortiz538 sounds like your having some fun. It’s very rewarding when you put some work in and get a good result. Keep us posted and post some pics! Good luck and ride safe!
  5. I seen you found it.
  6. You will be fine. Just don’t get frustrated. The manuals are all there, just take your time and you will figure it out. Ask as many questions as you like. There are a lot of members here to help you out.
  7. I guess @bradleyheathhays maybe realized it was an atv forum ?
  8. That’s what I was going to recommend moving the main jet needle.
  9. Oem carb ?
  10. Did you get to the post ?
  11. @ronwv48 take a look at this post it will help you along.
  12. Nice work ! Good luck and safe riding !
  13. Red this thread if it’s the switch or the cam itself like on my bike. The spring loaded contact on the reverse cam itself was what was bad butvthis thread will walk you through it all.
  14. Yes that’s the reverse lock out lever. I was wondering if you re installed the lock out properly ? And yes that’s the shifter and neutral safety switch.
  15. This is a picture of the bayou I just worked on. The part that has the arrow has a notch that allows the shifter to go into reverse when you pull the reverse spring lever. Did that get messed with during your repair ?
  16. Are you sure you put everything back correct ? The shifter has a reverse cam. Have you reinstalled that correctly? It’s a lever that’s got a notch in it on the same side under the same cover.
  17. If you have spark at the plug and it’s clearly visible then that’s good. The pick up coil delivers the spark at the exact time it’s supposed to and that may be giving you a problem. But before you get into all of that double check the bike does not have a rev limiter that could be giving you a problem or just bad fuel? Carburetor is 100% properly adjusted ? Have you tried to make adjustments?
  18. That’s a great listing. Very honest ans straight forward. I would have posted it for $1200 and got talked down to $1000
  19. Lol no mean I tighten them down to a certain point and back off when I feel comfortable.
  20. I’ve never used a breaker bar and always used my own internal breaker bar method. Lol but you have to be careful either way.
  21. Lol you will get there and have it just the way you want it. Maybe not a newer one but a new year.
