It should be simple enough. Follow the rack bars down to the bolts that hold it in place.

Some of them had a loop right under the rear bar. It’s a vinyl coated wire. Pull it and she comes off.

It sounds like the fuel in the bowl in the carb is being used up and not filling back up fast enough. Check the fuel lines and make sure your good from the gas valve to the carb and maybe pull the carburetor off and clean it out. Maybe bad gas ? Was it running fine before this problem ?

Never ridden there. Going to load up the trailer and head up for that weekend. It would be good if someone was there that is familiar with the place as well as another member to top it off. @06kfx440 and myself have been trying to plan something for a while now and this place seems to be close enough.

You can’t go wrong with lo balling. Worst case is they tell you take a walk. Sometimes they come up a few bucks more then the low ball offer !!! Win. Other times it’s a no go. Bottom line you have nothing to loose by going low.

That was actually my second atv paint project. All I did was sand and prep the plastics. Put a good paint adhesive primer spray on and added my base coat. The second color was my camo coat, I actually put on latex gloves and had real leafs from the tree outside my house. Laid them right on the plastics and sprayed over them. The pattern was there. Just kept moving it along as I went. The light housing that was there I removed it and added a piece of plastic from an old rubber maid I had laying around. I miss that bike. It was fun.

I don’t do face book but I will take your word on the pics. Smart idea to change the chains and anything else that’s suspect inside. Good luck and keep us posted.

You know what happens is they get a lot of low ball offfers and finally realize that they are high on the price and wind up selling low to the last guy that hits them up!

The problem with additional lights is the amperage. The better brand lights draw much more amperage due to the quality and real lumens it’s labeled to project. For instance a cheaper brand light that puts out 1100 lumens (brightness) versus a much better brand that puts out 1100 lumens will have different amperage draws on them. The cheaper one will draw 1.2 amps per light let’s just say and the better one may draw up to 2.8 amps. That will burn up either a fuse or the wiring. And the switch will burn up because it’s far from the fuse so there’s is more resistance going back to the battery. The wiring harness acts like a big fuse and will start to get warm before the fuse will finally pop doing damage to either a switch, wire etc.

@colin james see if this helps you out it’s from the same model as yours not the same year but the cc matched and model and it’s only a year apart form your bike. Should be the same.

During his test on the valves he seen that there was a minimal loss. So #1 piston had not collided with the valves and not making a hole in the piston. Secondly if the piston and valve collided that valve would be bent and not seat back in the head correctly leaving a gap for air to escape. The drive shaft that turns the sprocket that turns the timing chains has somehow someplace broken. Not the chain it’s self. Although the chain should be changed during this process it’s most likely fine. Basically he may have dodged a bullet here and wind up only replacing the broken part on the lower half of the engine instead of the top end as well. “Hopefully” 🙏🏻

I’ve seen a ton of posts about that paint thinner and linseed oil on YouTube. I hear good things for short term. I hear it does not last long.

I couldn’t tell you. I only buy, fix and sell. Maybe keep a few 😬. I don’t do tune ups or repairs for people.

Absolutely! Go through the bike and dont look excited. And explain how much money in parts and labor you have to put into the bike to what I like to say “get it back to good” is. Show him the cash and say look I’m here to buy. He will come back at $900.

Lol well said. Looks great. I have to say as much as I have worked to buy, sell, upgrade and buy the bikes I wanted with the money I made I am always looking for a new project. It’s a lot of fun.
