Thanks, I'll have to get the red loctite, and see if a new cotter pin came with what I bought or if I need to buy one.

I got a branch stuck up under my back axle on the right side and it sheared the boot closet to the tire off. The guy at the atv place said I'd have to take the boot off on the inside too, because that's the way they designed it. I'm hoping this is bull crap, and I only have to fix the one. Either way, I bought new boots and bands for each on the back right side. I need to buy a banding tool with a cutter next, to complete the ensemble. My question is, how hard of a fix is this? I was going to ask my uncle if he could do it. I know it'll be a greasy mess, but is it simple? I don't want it to get torn apart just to end up being hauled over to the garage. I want to get some use out of it this summer, since I spent a good penny on new front tires for it this spring, along with brand new oil/filter, and spark plug. It does me no good sitting in the barn looking dejected and forlorn.

I have an 99 Arctic cat 250 2x4, I want to change the oil in the spring next year and change the oil filter. I do know where the air filter is to change it and what type of oil it uses, BUT I do not know where the oil filter is or if it even has one. It's no big emergency, it's just if anyone has the answer would you mind letting me know. Thanks

No compression? That's what happened to mine when I drove it when there was no oil. I had to have mine 'bored out' as the mechanic called it. Did you find out what is wrong with it yet?

Am I crazy or are people just stupid?

Hmm, sometimes you just need to get hurt in order to realize how important something is. It's all about living and learning. -
Well, I got my 4 wheeler back. Some valve was bad? The man that fixed it said it's not something that just goes bad overnight, he was surprised that the guy who had redone it just a few months ago hadn't noticed it. It still smokes when I start it up, but quits when once I start riding. I can't imagine that's good, cause it dirties the starter thing up. I keep having to clean/ replace it. But it seems to be riding good, and it doesn't sound bad. I've taken it out on long rides and haven't broken down yet. I want to thank everyone for their advice on my last post. Here's hoping I don't have any more problems with it.

Don't worry, I'm glad for your help. If any questions come up about my cat I'll be sure to ask you. Tomorrow I'm going to try and take it in to get fixed. I really miss riding, but I guess I broke it at a good time. Can't ride it in this weather. Have a Happy New Year and thanks!
