I have a quad (Can-Am) that takes 25 inch tires, just got a set of rims with tires that are 26's, not a whole bunch taller, don't see any problems using them? My main question, just in case I want to swap the tires in the rims, is on the rear tires. My original tires are 25/11/12 the replacement rims, the tires are 26/10/12. If the rims have the 26/10's now, will it work with the 25/11 tires? They appear to be the same width, are they? How can I tell what will work on the rim. Inside the rim, it is stamped 12/7.5 ET:+51

I bought some stock wheels and tire that came off a Honda Foreman i believe. My problem is the rear rubbs my exhaust. Should I just put in a spacer and move the whole thing out an inch or two? Or should I buy 2 new wheels that have the correct backing? I have a 96 Fourtrax 300. the wheels that were on it are 9X9.0AT the new ones are 11X7.5AT.

I have a new Arctic cat 425i. The tires are pretty good but seem to have just enough traction to get you in really deep but not enough to get out. The best looking Ive found are Interco Super Swampers at about $85 for the front and $120 for the rear if I go stock size. A little pricey for me but not completely out of the question It has 25x10x12 rear and 25x8x12 front. I thought about going to 26x12x12 year and 26x10x12 front. but do not want to change anything else like gearing, rims or clearance. Any and all advice/suggestions will be appreciated.

Getting ready to buy a new Honda 500 4 x 4 Foreman. Factory tires are: 25 X 8 X 12 (front), 25 X 10 X 12 (rear). I want to put Super Swamper Vampires - 27 X 10 X 12 (front), 25 X 12 X 12 (rear) in place of factory set up. Will I have any type of bike clearance issues, etc by doing this?

Lots of tire brands out there I'm not familiar with for ATVs Are there some generic brands that are just crap I should avoid. I Plan on trail riding mainly. Very little dune use. Occasional mud. I Like cheap but like anything you get what you pay for.

just purchased a 2011 king quad 750 axi with power sterring and i want to upgrade the tires and wheels. i would like to stay with the stock sizes. a friend of mine runs sedona ripsaws on itp wheels on his polaris 850 and he says they are a good all around tire. does anyone run them on a king quad with power sterring ?

My favorite tires are Kenda BearClaws and carlile Trail Wolfes.

I just purchased an 04 polaris sportsman 700 efi 4x4, runs stock 25s and i would like to put 26s on for the additional tread depth. For just the 1" larger tire would i have to change anything with the machine to run the larger tire?

I have an 02 prairie 650 it has 25x12x12 rears 25x9.5 x12 fr I would like to have the same all the way around. I'm not sure If anythings been done to the clutch springs to handel the larger tires. stock size rear 25x10x12 fr 25x8x12 I wont 12x12 or 10x12 front & back. I like the extra ground clearance of the 25x12x12 I just don't know how much it would effect it to put 25x12x12 on the front if it would cause front diff or clutch problems. it seems most utlity quads have smaller tires on front from the factory but theres a pretty big height difference on mine.

Ive been searching the net trying to find info on tire sizing and I think I know what I'm doing now. But it's nice to hear from some who has been through buying new tires for stock rims. What my question is.. Will Mud Lite XL 26x9x12 and 26x12x12 fit my stock rims and will there be any clearance problems. My machine is a 2005 SP 500 HO with stock 26" tires. The stock rim widths are 6" Front and 8" Rear. Now this is one of the statements I found on the net and I just wanted to know what everyone thinks about it? "When buying tires for existing rims, never buy tires more than six inches wider than your rims. A minimum also applies where you should never buy tires less than three inches wider than your rims. The difference between tire width and rim width is needed to insure the tire bead is seated on the rim with the low tire pressure that ATV tires operate at."

Howdy yall! Ive had my 96 king quad for some time now and im starting to want to build it up as much as i can, so i figured start with my tires as its getting about time to change them out(plugs galore and minimal tread). As its a 4x4, I keep hearing different things from my other ATV friends like i have to keep stock dimensions, others say i can go bigger proprtionally, have all tires the same dimensions, etc. Am i gonna screw my tranny up if i dont keep em stock? Id definetly like a tire with alot more tread depth more suited to mudding/trail riding, just dont know to much about ATVs just yet to decide what to do. Lil help please?

Unlike motorcycle tires, ATV tire sizes are all based on the English sizing method. An example of an ATV tire size would be 25 X 10 X 12. Tire Height The first number indicates the height of the tire when inflated to the manufacturers' recommended pressure, in this case 25 inches from the ground to the top of the tire. Rim Width The second number indicates the width in inches of the rim size recommended by the manufacturer, in this case 10 inches. Rim Diameter The last number indicates the diameter of the rim that the tire will fit on, in this case 12 inches.
