  1. I am on Facebook and also use Skype; although I don't use Skype nearly as much as I used to. When Microsoft bought Skype and started "improving" it the made a mess of it as far as I'm concerned . It went from an easy to use chat facility to one using too much of my screen while complicating some things that were easy to use. I am also in some other interest and community groups/ forums. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Skype all have their followers and users. I don't use Instagram and seldom check Twitter. My main connection to family and friends is Facebook and Skype now is mostly to chat with a friend in China since for some reason the PTB there block easy access to Facebook and Youtube. Security can be set as tight or loose on Facebook as you wish. Facebook has an added advantage in that you can have interest groups with in it to keep up with friends with shared interests without having everything open on your main page .. I am in a Ham Radio group, 4x4 and quad group, a gardening group, one on tropical fishkeeping as well as one on internet tv. I try to help out where I can , and otherwise toss in comments in the forums . It doesn't matter the activity or hobby, we all started as complete newbies, and asked our share of "stupid and easy" questions and others took the time to answer them . Yes , there were the know it all asses, but if you ignore them they soon get tired and go away or an admin makes them go away. There are no stupid questions. If youdon't ask , you won't find the answer. Sometimes the answer to your "stupid question" also helps others too shy or afraid to ask for fear of ridicule by the wise as* old timer who really isn't as wise and all knowing he thinks he is . The really smart ones know you can never know all there is on any subject and constantly learn new tricks. Sometimes those new tricks come from an answer to "stupid questions" . Those that "just come for the manuals" and leave don't know just how valuable a resource they are overlooking by doing so.

  3. It just speaks volumes to the quality of this forum. I’m sure a lot of people get berated on other forums for not knowing about certain things. We have helped so many and I feel so many helped me! You will never feel like a dummy here. There was one member I forgot who it was maybe a week or two ago that said “the only stupid question is the question that’s not asked” I think that’s how it went. #winning

  5. The simple fact that this thread has not spun out of control speaks volumes to the conduct on the forum......I realize this is my first post. I have spent some time on another forum, this thread would have played out differently. I opened this one out of morbid curiosity. Kudos to you guys.

  6. picked up this pos bike for $80 not running. took it home, cleaned the carb and bypassed the fuse- ran great (other than the rev limiter- those things are so stupid) Then one day out of the blue it starts flooding on cold startup and wont idle cold, but idles to fast warm. (too fast being about half throttle speed heh). I tried a new carb ($10) and new sp. new carb wouldnt make it run except on choke and then it was gushing white smoke. I had better things to do with my time so I parked it in a shed and used it for a work bench for a while... this last weekend, I wanted to take it along with the sportman to a mens retreat to let the younger boys have some fun on it-- took about 30mins to pull all the crap I had accumulated on it and then rolled it down to my workshop, put the old carb back on after adjusting the needle clip up two notches (leaner) and threw it back on the bike. Will turn over, but no fire. I didnt have time to check sp that day but just wanted some incite on what could be wrong with this quad (if it even qualifies as being called that)

  7. yup. @Frank Angerano, you get what you pay for.... haha @Ajmboy I already bought a new carb off amazon for $10. I think its a spark issue rn cause the bike wont fire period. turns over fine

  8. If the cover has a hole and you can’t find a replacement there are always people out there that can close it up with a little heliarc welding job. Prob cost you $25 but worth it.

  9. I have never joined Facebook and never will. I have Instagram and use it often as it’s more family orientated. But I have seen a few stupid posts. But like they say there is always one as***** in the crowd!

  10. All the years I've been on this forum, there have been a few "wise asses" that have been banned, but overall great people helping each other. Over the past few years its turned more into people joining for help than sharing pics, rides, etc. But that ok, its the facebook era and they reserve that stuff for facebook and Instagram I guess. Can you tell I like this new Giphy feature??? LOL This community has some great info, just use the search bar and you can probably find some interesting reading and solutions!

  11. Okay. All clean inside from view of the sp. I put 2 stroke oil in it cause it will burn off anyway. I took a straw and stuck it in the qt container. Sealed the straw. Then blew into the sp hole. Let it sit and cranked over. I figured I would crank the hell out of it to lube the cylinder. But by the time that was said and done. The battery is dead. I did notice a few loose wires that I tightened Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

  12. the 220 I'm working on always has trouble starting even after its been running a while... it just struggles to get that first turn-over and then its good. the owner didnt want it replaced, so itll just have to be that way, but probably the same issue.. thanks!

  13. Good luck on the wolverine. I've always wanted one of them as a project. Let us know how you do on that. As far as your Polaris goes does it seem like the idle is high ? I agree with the other comments on the high to low with the idle so I’m curious to see how that works out.

  14. You may see voltage on your battery with a tester and have dash lights etc. but if the battery does not have the amperage to crank then it will need a jump. So mostly likely a bad cell inside your battery. If you change the battery and still have the issue then I would look at the starter relay for beginners and work forward from there.

  15. Honestly, I don't do anything with polaris and I used to be a bit turned off by polaris atvs in general because two of my buddies had an Xplorer and Sportsman 600 I think and although nice quads, they just couldn't take the beating our grizzlys, hondas, kodiak, and king quads could. Both of them had issues with front suspension and axles I recall and one had a speedo issue. But its not really fair because that was like 10 years ago and today they seem much better. I haven't ridden one in a while so I can't really give you an opinion. I'm biased because I've only owned Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha ATVs like Bayou, Warrior, Kodiak, King Quad, and Grizzly.
