  1. Good stuff brother, OEM carburetors are the best! Im glad it runs good. I would get the proper tire on the rear sooner then later. One tire is spinning faster then the other and thats not good for a rear differential. I have seen a few racks for them on various sites as im always looking for parts. If i come across some I could put you in touch with the vendor if your looking.
  2. Well as long as its a solid bike and your happy then thats all that matters! How does it run ? Im a big fan of that bike especially the suspension.
  3. China carbs are the worst! Never had any luck with them. The smoke by the exhaust is usually a valve cap seal, did you change the rubber seals ? If not simply pull them and add a little high heat silicone and put back on. Leave the rubber ones in place with the silicone and clean them of any oil. What do you mean you broke a banjo bolt? Did you replace it ? The noise is most likely the clutch. When you start to move the noise should stop, if so then its clutch chatter and will need some work. Maybe new plates.
  4. That sounds a bit high. What year?
  5. Try the vice grips they work great. They come in large and small. I like the small because they get in smaller places.
  6. Hey Marek, sounds like a nice atv you picked up. Oil, anti freeze and differential fluids are the main items. Spark plug if you want but overall thats the main stuff you should take care of. How much did you pay ?
  7. Wow cooked! Nice work diagnostic wise. Good stuff brother, keep us posted.
  8. Great news brother we have had had so much success this week! @Ajmboy @davefrombc @spock58 and everyone else that added to help out on this topic and a few others it was a cool week helping out! Good stuff!
  9. Thats what its all about paying it forward! One thing about this is yes it's addicting! Ride safe
  10. Can you post a few pics of the screws. Im sure between me and the rest of the gang here a solution will come up. My worry is if you cut the screw heads off you will only be left with a 1/16" of an inch of screw left to try and grab.
  11. Great pic of the sky, thats the good lord shining down on you for listening to your wife 😂 lets hope the spring comes in as fast as the winter did.
  12. In the great words of Spock ! May that atv live long and prosper.... @spock58 @Dra O enjoy and stay in touch! 😂
  13. You are correct, i just looked at the manual and thats what it shows. I'm hooping this was the problem all along with his bogging.
  14. Lol simple choke, thats great. Awesome news on that. The smoke that you see is it a pressurized type smoke like you can feel an exhaust leak or an oil burning on a hot exhaust type of smoke. Reason is a lot of the time the caps that cover the valve adjustment stems will sometimes leak over time or the valve cover gaskets. If its an exhaust leak you will feel it or hear it as well.
  15. That lever your pointing to is the choke. Forward is on and back is off. Is it possible you had it on the whole time? As far as fingers over the rear of the carburetor yes thats what i mean but only covering half of the opening. But check the choke first before you do anything. This could be your problem straight away the whole time.
  16. Hahaha no nothing is going to jump out and bite you. Not the idle setting. The idle screw that your referencing with the black cable is only to be used to adjust the idle on the atv when everything is all said and done. What i am referring to is your choke. Thats located either on the handlebars or on the side of the carburetor. Its used when the engine is cold you turn the choke on and start your atv. Then you push the choke back to the normal position when the atv is warmed up. So what I'm asking you to try is get the atv started and warmed up, then put the choke on halfway and see if when you press the throttle it still bogs down. Or the second method is to take the rear boot off the back of the carburetor so you can get your hand in there. While the engine is already running take two fingers and cover the intake halfway. Press the throttle and see if it revs up without that hesitation. If it does work then you know you are having a fuel delivery problem internally. Lastly the air fuel mixture screw may need to be adjusted. As i mentioned before if you can make a small screwdriver that can fit into and under the carburetor so you can adjust while the engine is running is the best way to get optimal air/fuel mixture adjustment. The higher the engine revs the better its mixing as you adjust. Once that is done all you wouod need to do is lower the idle upon completion of that air/fuel mixture screw.
  17. Hey @Chris Chitwood welcome to Quadcrazy. Nice atv you got there. If the screws or bolts are exposed enough on the pull starter you might be able to grab them with a visegrip pliers. But before you do that see if you can spray the inside with WD-40 utilizing the small red tube on the tip to get inside the pull starter and spray it good and let it sit. If the recoil spring is broke then it will need to be replaced but it just may be rusted inside.
  18. Thats great. Let us know how it handles the weather and wind.
  19. Probably just that and a little adjusting. Ive always has to make adjustments whenever i fire up a bike for the first time. Some minor some major.
  20. Cant wait. Have a great xmas i hope the boys love the bikes.
  21. I would wait on the battery verdict. It would suck to go through all of that just to find out it was a bad cell in the battery. On a side note have everything ready in the cart to order just in case.
  22. My man !!! Nice work. Stay in touch, Quadcrazy is not just about fixing and helping out but a cool place to share pics and lots more. Ride safe.
  23. Battery will either test good or bad. No in between on that. Load test is a load test and results are immediate. Spark plug color should be a very light color tanish. If so then its still good but never hurts to change it. Hopefully its just the battery.
  24. Thats the drive shaft for the sprocket which is internal. The only way ive ever changed one and seen them changed on other engines was splitting the engine or the side cover depending on the manufacturer. Definitely doable but its quite the undertaking.
