  1. Have you priced it ? Should be no more then $60 bucks and a lot of them come with the gasket.
  2. Agreed so even more of a reason to order two gaskets and the starter clutch. Its always better to have then to need!
  3. Ok be sure to post pics and take your time. A problem like this can be frustrating. Ask as many questions as you want and the key here is to not cause more damage. I think your going to have to check the timing for sh*** and giggles (it's probably ok) but just want to go through the usual suspects. Valve clearance, take a look. Do you have the manual for the atv? Service manual ?
  4. 100% agreed. That carb is worth a few buck as well. I reached out to a guy i have in PA. He has everything, lets see what he says.
  5. The relay wont buzz when you jump the lugs. The reason for jumping the lugs was to see if the starter works in the engine cranks. If the engine did crank than the starter is fine and most likely the solenoid is what needs to be replaced. If the starter did not crank then you obviously have a problem with the starter and either put a rebuild kit or a new starter. So did the engine turn over when you jumped the two lugs on the relay ?
  6. Wrapping is always the best way go and get the best results. Problem is its super expensive and a lot of members look for inexpensive alternatives. We also pick up atvs that are long dead and bring them back to life, old ones so some painting ideas and some restoration is part of the reward. It's interesting to see what one can come up with from there garage!
  7. Jump the lugs on the solenoid and see if the starter spins. If so then the solenoid is in need of replacement most likely. Especially if you cleaned every cable and contact.
  8. Thanks @Ajmboy on the lights. As far as freezing yes i do but I vacuum seal it all first.
  9. Ok well that leads me to believe its not the decompression device. That engine should have cranked without the plugs in. Especially easy on the pull start side. Your going to have to pull the clutch cover off to make sure there is no bind up in there. You have to find out what's causing this resistance. As far as the noise, it sounds like a starter clutch. Thats the left side of the engine cover.
  10. Loctite you will only need if you swap out the starter clutch. I tend to stay away from Loctite on the engine cover bolts and put a tiny dab of silicone on the threads instead, especially the longer bolts at the top of cover. That loctite sh** works good and the longer bolts have to much length on them so they twist and snap coming back out so choose wisely. Spray the stater clutch with carburetor cleaner if you can get to it. Maybe its gummed from dirty oil. Prob not but cant hurt. My guess is you will be changing down the road, and of course it will go on a snowy day!!!! Lololol. May be best to have one on hand and a gasket just in case.
  11. What i was getting at was no spark plugs at all and see if the engine cranks. If not then it may not be the decompression device and need to look elsewhere. That spinning sound your hearing Im assuming is the starter clutch. Is the pull start working ?
  12. Theres no doubt shes grabbing again. It's common for them to stick and get stuck and work again. The problem is it keeps happening. I would go with your gut and slap a nee gasket on and see how it goes. Worst case she acts up again you know what to do!
  13. So you pulled the cover off and checked things out and its working again?
  14. Ok so today’s progress! Re packed all the winter summer clothes into new better fitting rubbermaids and organized the closets again to suit the needs. I also took the mattres out of the trundle bed at the bottom of the bunk beds and got rid of it. Nobody uses it so it’s gone. I went to Home Depot and got Rubbermaid’s that fit under it and organized even more sh** so I basically have a big drawer now with bins. I did some re pointing of some masonry items on the house and sealed the tile on the porch. Washed one of the trucks. Cleaned the garage AGAIN! Im losing it I think!!!!!
  15. Wow huge difference! Looks great and its a cool color scheme! Great progress!!!!
  16. Yes sir! I do this every summer, stack up in a freezer chest! That should hold me over until mid to end of July. I do shrimp and fish, hot dogs and burgers so whats in the picture lasts a long time. I also vacuum seal it all so it stays fresh.
  17. Take a look at this and let me know what you think.
  18. Nothing to really recommend other then verifying that 1. The seals aren't defective. 2. They are the proper seals for that engine. 3. You installed then properly. Ive made simple mistakes like not seating the seals correctly.
  19. It could be. I have seen instances where timing was set bit once tightened on the chain tensioner it throws it off. its a long shot but im just throwing things out there.
  20. Could be a simple timing thing.
  21. It's possible the seals you got are bad or for the wrong year or make? Sucks but it happens.
  22. Hows the plug look? Timing spot on ? Valves adjusted good ? Throw an inline spark tester and see if spark is breaking down at 60% throttle.
  23. Finally made it to the butcher! 30 pounds of shell 🥩 cut at an inch and a half thick. Cheese and parsley sausage, sweet sausage and hot sausage! Chicken rollatini! Stuffed chicken breast! Summer is going be good!!!
