  1. It could be but the thermostat housing has a small bypass allowing coolant to flow throughout the system so there is flow to the radiator. Plus the coolant does make it to the top end on the return side and that heat will rise to the radiator.
  2. The starter solenoid should have a 12+ power wire, maybe the white i cant remember. Have you jumped the two wires on the solenoid to see if the engine cranks ? Also some models had to have the brake lever pulled in. Any dash lights ?
  3. Oh ok, just wanted to make sure as there is really no adjustment for the timing. Either its on or its off. Did you find the proper size feeler gauge for the valve adjustment?
  4. Hey chase, adjusting the timing ? The timing should be set in one spot only so check that your at TDC and your marks on the sprocket are good. Once that's done then the timing is set and should not be moved. After its all lined up the valves can be adjusted by loosening up the valve stem adjusters with a 10mm wrench. You basically stick the feeler gauge (size as per manual) in between the valve and rocker arm and slowly tighten the adjuster until that feeler gauge slides out with a little bit of resistance. Then you tighten the 10mm nut good and try to stick the feeler gauge back in, It should go in with a slight push. After that you should be set. Keep in mind that intake and exhaust valves are different sizes on the feeler gauges. All adjustments should be made in the TDC position.
  5. Could have been a vacuum port? For now i would put a dab of silicone over the hole and let it sit over night to properly dry. At least you can ride. In the meantime you can research what it passably could be for. Maybe even take a ride out to your local Suzuki dealer and ask one of the mechanics or have them bring up a more detailed blow up of the carburetor. I will keep looking as well to see what i can find.
  6. Yep thats it and the part is behind and attached to the flywheel with some allen bolts. FYI the flywheel os deeper then the allen key so you have to use the longer stem on the allen key. Problem is its a bi*** to try and turn so you should have a set of good "T" handle allen keys.
  7. Ok so at least the motor is good, locate that sensor and jump the wires together. If the fan comes on then the sensor is bad. If the fan does not come on then follow the steps as indicated in the previous messages.
  8. I ordered a diode kit on Amazon and man i have to say it was worth it. $20 bucks for 80 various assorted diodes.
  9. Well thats an oddball. I looked up the carb and its not called out. Sometimes there is a clip that holds in the fuel line (steel part) into the carb. It looks like a fork but i can't be sure. Have you removed the screw to see what it possibly does or is?
  10. And ..... Does the fan spin? If so great and you would go to the temperature switch on the radiator like @mikeexplorer mentioned. See if one of the wires has 12+ with the key on. If not then you have to trace the 12+ from the temperature sensor to the fuse block, there is also an in-line fuseable link in the harness on the 12+ power wire going to the temperature switch. Also check your ground on the fan motor.
  11. Nothing broke per say. That's the one way clutch. They go sometimes plain and simple. That part #6 should be what you need but its behind the flywheel and bolted to the flywheel. Going to need the side cover gasket and most importantly is loctite for 6 allen bolts holding it to the flywheel. @Ajmboy The flywheel needs a special puller to get it off. If you don't have one i can mail you mine. Its not big and you can mail it back.
  12. It sounds like a shot battery to me, i would start there first before i take anything apart. Maybe time for a new battery!!!
  13. Lol work itself out?? No its not going to work itself out! Any codes coming up? Start by checking all the obvious stuff like fuses, any wire or switch damage and check for power to the power steering control.
  14. So it comes on as per the temperature on the sensor?
  15. Nice stuff Gunny. I love the tall pines and the fresh snow on the ground.
  16. For some reason with these Suzuki electrical systems i find them to be very temperamental.
  17. It is the hard part, i had to run out for some supplies today and drove by the park and there were 200 plus people in the park today!!! I am shocked at the ignorance, only reason i went out today was to get what i need so i can stay away from the general population for the next two weeks. Not good.
  18. Definitely a smart move brother. The next two weeks are going to be tough on us all!
  19. I don't think you can put a price on that fix. Splitting, locating a covet and reassembled is a number i don't want to think about! $200 is a score.
  20. Thats right your wife is in health care. How is she doing????
  21. Could be belt slop or maybe some tired clutch springs. If it goes away when the rpms go up them it's obvious a centrifugal issue that's related to the clutch or belt. It would help if you mentioned the make model and year.
