  1. I would love to see and ride KY! I bet its a blast by you, huge Honda guy here. Be sure to let us know what you wind up buying for your grandson.
  2. Welcome to Quadcrazy!
  3. Hey joe. What your looking at there are valve stem seals. They are supposed to sit on the base of the valve stem under the valve cover. They are inside the valve spring. It would make sense on the fouling of the plug but they cant come off unless they are split or the valve comes out. So either someone left them inside the engine or they are split ?
  4. That's your regulator/rectifier.
  5. Honestly as i said before i ordered a $9 piece of fabric on amazon and made my own cover. Sprayed it with three coats of spray scotch guard and i was good to go. All you need is a T-50 staple gun with half inch pointed staples. If you don't want to order then use a black sheet.
  6. There you go!! I had a feeling.
  7. The switch is located on the left brake handle.
  8. Ok, make sure the brake handle is pulled in!!!!
  9. Maybe a lose connection, go back and double check everything. Is the neutral lighy on ?
  10. That's awesome! @JacobSlabach is a smart member!!!!! Did you vacuum out the dirt before you pulled the plug ? There are a lot of members here that will always answer and do there best as quick as possible. Thats why as much as one would go to a specific brand forum, Quadcrazy members have all different brands and a ton of knowledge. Good luck brother and ride safe.
  11. It looks like the spark plug is stripped to me.
  12. Yep sure does, deep down there are good layers so it depends on how deep you have to go for fresh layers.
  13. Left and right movement is normal because the cylinder and piston keep it from moving left to right once the piston is in. The only other reason i could think of would be the wrist pin and bearing at the piston? The bearing could be bad or check the top of the connecting rod where the wrist pin goes through and make sure its not egged. (Oval from a worn out bearing) Hopefully you are putting in new valve stem seals?
  14. With enough sanding of the plastics, i like to water sand so no dust. You take off enough layers to get back to the original color. Its just a matter of how deep you can or want to go.
  15. Agreed with @MarkinAR on sitting on the atv and it comes back to normal. The parts your referencing I believe are NOT your problem. There is more to this so take a look before you start buying. Maybe tie rod ends, shock problem etc.
  16. Absolutely @MarkinAR spot on and solid advice! Use the rocker switch that comes with the winch to control for sure and direct to the battery with an inline fuse on the power lines.
  17. I did or didn't make a good point ? Pull the head off, not the cylinder jug. You have a lot more options getting that plug out with the head off. Either way make sure you spray the plug a day before. But i would spray and try the socket i sent first.
  18. Welcome to Quadcrazy @matthew smith The movement left to right is perfectly fine. If there is up and down then there is a problem. Honestly if the compression is that low then a new piston and rings are in need. Also a honer VERY LIGHTLY ran through the cylinder jug would be good. Also a valve adjustment should be done as well. Other then that you should be good to go.
  19. @MarkinAR i am completely baffled. Based on what i have found and what i have replaced makes perfect but no sense at all. There is no way this engine could have ran properly the way it was. So anyway im going to write this off as an unexplained yet obvious solution based problem. @northernmi thanks pal. It all worked out in the end. Now i have the task of re assembling the rest of the atv and i hate that part. But thanks to all that commented, we are on the uptick!! Pics to follow.
  20. Weisco!!!
  21. Ahhhh ok i see it now. So im assuming that the previous spark plug cap/boot had a big flat rubber washer on it that would have prevented water from getting inside. My guess is the new coil did not have that boot I mentioned. Can you post a pic of that? If the spark plug is stripped and you cant get it out then worst case is you pull the cylinder head off and work it out from the underside of the head. Maybe spray penetrating oil in the head/spark plug hole and let it sit for a day and try to get a smaller socket on there. They also sell a socket that adapts to any size nut. Maybe try that? 22. Yes! This was a real PITA! But all good.
  23. If that's what you see when you look in the spark plug hole then there's a problem. Not sure what that pic is or the blue stuff in the pic!
  24. Well done and some good info.
