  1. you are so polite! but every guy knows he'll use the kitchen sink if he can! don't try and lie now! LOL:wink: HOPEFULLY NOT with gasoline- I was obviously not clear enough. sorries but I have known many people to do this, not including myself of course. REALLY. hahhaa bot knows why.
  2. I amtrying to remove/replace some pics in my personal site. Adding is easy, but removing seems to be in a different place. To me this makes no sense and is very frustrating. can ya help me? don't send me to 'the learning center' OK? I don't like that name anymore. ONLY people who don't like you send you to "the learning center' it's like DETENTION, or shopping with your MOM. I dislike both.
  3. Apologies, I guess I am too stupid to figure THAT out. who could? Is it too much to ask for a little tutelage? I hate doing things twice.
  4. Sorry, cant help you with that, perhaps someone on the Bombardier forum can. they're in Canada, shouldn't be difficult to find in a search..... sorry that's all I have. I will surely look around for you- it's out there somewhere.
  5. buy a repair manual and do it yourself. When I have a big project I usually go out and look it over closely, then devise a plan to do it. Take your time. Once it is done, then you will know the shortcuts and be able to help out other folks.....The first time I adjusted valves on a yamaha it took forever, Now it's a piece of cake. Your only other option is to take it to a shop. It's like going to the Doctor or the VET [that's a different rant] nowadays.....
  6. I use SimpleGreen, it cuts the oil, doesn't stink or explode in my face. [OK I'm sensitive about that hehe.] I prefer K/n Spray oil- if you buy the kit with the cleaner in it, it's not a BAD cleaner, I just have better luck with simplegreen. If I were still married I would NEVER bring gasoline into the house....
  7. I wouldn't want to have to change that one.....
  8. I think Dirt Demon has it. readjust the cable so it has a little more slack in it. I recommend the Dr.D reverse lever for 660rs, it's COOL and makes reversing and adjusting really easy.
  9. just a tip: the first thing I do on old Hondas is change the OIL. It is usually cruddy and low when I get them. It is surprising how many items suddenly function with clean oil....I got an atc90 for the trip cuz it had a knock- it was out of oil! Like MWKE says, LUBE everything in site! and you'll find you have a better ride than you thot. Hondas are TOUGH, keep em lubed and they are pretty hard to hurt. adjust the valves too! that's easy.
  10. most factory handlebars are kinda buttery for a reason- so you bend the bars and not the stem. been there, done that. I rather pay $22 for factory bars than $230 for a new steering stem, wouldn't you? That's what is risked when guys put those hard-as-stone bars and clamps on a stock stem. Instead of the bars bending, the stem does. And it ain't cheap! and I don't wanna change any more hahaha Solution: a hardened aftermarket stem? A hardened stem often bends the front of the frame! yes it got worse LOL and way more expensive. Think about it before you go and spend $200 on bars and clamps.....you are setting yourself up for a larger repair bill.
  11. is the hole on the RH side? when you are sitting on it? are there threads in it? while it's running put your finger over the hole and if the engine sounds changes then you are missing something. if not, still tell us if there are threads in there. Most of the blaster carbs were also used on motorcycles and they have a port on the RH side that is cast in the body for a jet the blaster does not use. good to hear it is running now-
  12. that's good news. when it cools, pop the spark plug out and check it for color. what jet? spare carb parts make me nervous hahaha jet engine? that's cool
  13. perhaps the throttle cable is too tight and holding the slide open.
  14. does the throttle cable go thru it? if so, back it off until you have just a little free play in your throttle control. Oh, the factory jet on the side is idle speed adj, not mixture. factory book says pilot air screw 1 and 1/2 turns out. throttle cable free play should be .18 to .24 inch [1/4 inch max]
  15. well the manual will tell you that, but I think you have a vacuum leak.... if your book doesnt tell you let me know and i'll try and find it in mine.
  16. Most likely a vacuum leak. not good for the engine! as it leans out it will speed up until it explodes... does the throttle work smoothly? the slide is not stuck? since it happened suddenly take a close look around the bottom of the barrel, ie, where the cylinder sits on the case. there's a paper gasket there and sometimes they will suck a chunk of that into the engine, creating a massive air leak. Make sure your carb is on tight too and you intake to head. have any spray brakekleen or wd40? start it and spray around the barrel and intake...if the engine sputters, you found the leak. but dont leave it running wide open for long! you don't want o seize it.
  17. there isn't much to adjust on that carb. You still have the TORS system on it? most do. It's a box atop the carb that throttle cable goes through. If this happened suddenly then does it run OK otherwise? I would check 3 things first: Take the hood off and make sure the TORS box [one of the little black boxes] is plugged in and the connections are clean. It mat think you have fallen off. Make sure your throttle control is firmly mounted so it grounds to the bars. It shouldn't be loose. Fire it up, have someone keep it running, and adjust the only screw on the carb slowly.....it's a mixture screw so count which way you turn it each way. let us know what you get OK?
  18. not to worry my friend, if you can handle the dunes, you can handle these trails. In our soon to be released video debut Stoopidbot1, Kristin, and I will show you how carefully the trails are groomed at East Fort Rock. We even interview one of the groomers. This riding area is open year around and since it is on both the treeline and the prairie there is a tremendous diversity of trails, soils and terrain. And yes, those damm razor sharp volcanic rocks do live here too, but they are marked on the map as [not ATV advisable] which is verrrry nice. We ride out there year around, in winter we wear snowmobile suits and start a damm good fire! Bot1 will attest that it's under 25 miles from my driveway, like Saddleback Park was 4 decades ago now..... you'll have a ball- all the heavies do their testing here and I don't mean the damm magazines, I mean the MFRs. Let me know when you're ready to go. Perhaps we'll compare weather and riding conditiuons at Diamond Lake OK? I know EFR will be cool to ride, no deep snow that high and far out from the divide; we ride out there year around as do many other folks. Down: COLD Up: no dust and no traffic!!! see ya soon! r8 Did I mention it is the largest dedicated riding area in the lower 48 states? it is. I am looking forward to the ride if I can still fit in my snowsuit hahaha
  19. about a hundred miles I think....very dependent on weather since I live on the snowy side. as for flags, they are required here in all dune areas. triangle shape, bright orange, 8 foot pole I think. yes a QC flag would be cool!
  20. Raptorman that's good news- I know you had some difficult choices to make.....don't forget that helmet OK? yeah post some pics for sure!
  21. required in dune areas here. it's run the flag or load up and pay the man $150. THEN go buy a $15 flag.
  22. OH MAN SORRY ABOUT THAT! I forgot! "burn after reading" kinda scenario, eh? I was gonna save the video for future ammo if needed LOL oh well.
  23. I read something by Harry Truman last nite [he's got a lot of good stuff.] When asked why he was a politician, he said he had two choices, it was either a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. After which he remarked "they're pretty much the same thing anyway." well said!
  24. Here it's trails and ROCKS- lots and lots of em! the nearest dunes are 100 miles away. I prefer trails anyway..... Those Dunlops that come on Raptors and many other quads are 2 ply sidewall and no competition for lava rock: I had 2 flats in one day! Fortunately the tire store was nearby. The following weekend we had XCTs on Douglas rims all around and have ridden them ever since without a single flat. Get a good skid plate too! most factory units are plastic- just not good enuf!
