    i don't know if there is some sensor that reads low oil and doesn't allow it to run, maybe there is. i'll talk to a buddy and see what he can come up with, and in the meantime someone else here might jump in the thread and suggest something too...

    i have three service manuals and your welcome to them. 1996 - 1998 POLARIS SERVICE MANUAL < this is supposed to cover all, 1996 - 2003 Polaris Sportsman Xplorer 500 Service Manual < might be the one you have, 1997 Polaris Sportsman 500 Service Manual < maybe try a '97? just go here : www.yousendit.com login : [email protected] pass : romy1961 after you login, just click the folders icon and go into the polaris folder. hope this helps ...

    i would check the kill switch first, off or on, then the wiring, either a wire has broken, making bad contact, or fried against something hot. check the wire connectors too and make sure the neutral safety switch wire is attached.

    what year is your bike? have you checked all the electrical wires and switches? fuses? has the bike sat for awhile?

    i just have the service manual for the 300, and owners manual for the 220 at this time. i am always looking online for more, but haven't stumbled across the 220 yet ...

    i think you will have to adjust the air screw, # 15 to increase the air. # 33 is usually turned out 1 1/2 turns .... if you still have problems, message CHERIAH she is the Carb Queen of Quad Crazy

    i have never seen a bike with different size front or rear shocks before. check the frame rail over the tires, where the shocks bolt in. it has to be bent out of whack or something. sounds like someone made a jump, landed hard on the rear right, and pushed the frame up, then put a longer shock on to try and drive the wheel back down... JMO
