  1. ^^^ Id go with a carb cleaning too Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  2. Agreed the oversized torx trick works alot with rounded allen bolts. Also maybe try an SAE allen head socket that you have to tap in. Also if its available put a dab of valve grinding compund in the bolt head so it wont strip. Not sure how it works but I use it with a 100% success rate. 3. I know with my Honda 400ex the engine oil also is used for the transmission and clutches. I now run a 500cc motor with almost twice the power. Heat, since its air cooled breaks down oil much quicker. I dont send my oil out for analysis so its hard to tell when I should change it. My rule of thumb is after the third ride. Plus my bike sometimes sits a month or so between rides which isnt good either. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  4. Faired well in the storm cell service is back up but very limited.have a generator Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  5. Oil change after every third ride or about 10-12 hours. Air filter gets cleaned and reoiled with the oil change. After a wash i remove plastics for a quick check of nuts amd bolts etc. Tire pressure, chain tension, and axle nut gets checked before every ride. Brake and clutch play are noted during a ride and adjusted accordingly Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  6. Lets see of we can beat our highet votes each month lol Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  7. I was told to keep it on the conservative side till i finished a tank of gas.... That lasted for about 10 laps. The rest was me just hangingon (thumbup) to the bike like a flag in the wind lol. Its quite the beast of a bike but just unsure of this oil problem Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  8. My 500EX motor was already broken in and heat cycled. It was sitting for a month with an occasional start and idle. After a hard ride at a mx track I checked my oil level with engine oil temp at 250* and the motor shut off. The temp never went higher than 250* (cooler works great!) The oil was near the top of the tank. I let it cool down for an hour and the oil level was at the top of the crosshatch section (max full). I went back out for about 20 more laps and went back to the staging area and the oil was seeping out of the dipstick o ring. i have an aftermarket dipstick with a temp gauge on it. I removed the dipstick and oil started to overflow. I havent ridden it since then (no time) but checked the oil and its back down but above the full crosshatch area. I dont smell it but could it be possible that gas ended up in the motor from a sticking float. When I towed it to the track I forgot to turn off the petcock and actually left it on reserve. its now shut off. after about 40 laps I have about 3/4 of a tank is this excessive or ok?
  9. I know alot of the factory kits last alot longer than aftermarket but dont have the bite when putting down gobs of extra power. If your not racing mx or gncc go with a factory clutch kit
  10. I hate people sometimes! When I went to school in Nashville Tenn. one of the teachers there would carry and put his gun n holster on his desk. Being from NY i have never seen this before but felt quite safe as he was very cool and calm person. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2

  16. I believe its not that hard to do. I remember a thread on here about the kebc actuator. Search the kawasaki threads. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  17. Supposedly there have been more landowners pulling rifles on atv riders in the eastern PA area. I think its because there are goon riders who dont care but also a big problem is that there is no real borders or property lines to differetiate private land from RAC land. Sometimes its hard to notice a single 8"x8" sign while trail riding at 50mph. Ive done it. I cant get a carry permit in NY! Anyone know what type of pistol is good for a beginner? Sorry for the hijack! Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2

  20. Most likely mid to upper hp improvments. You will notice more low end torque improvments with bigger pistons or longer strokes. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  21. For just bolt ons i would go with stage 1. If your going to go with a p&p or engine work stage 2. Talk to a sales rep a Hot Cams before you buy they will know whats the perfect fit Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  22. Hot Cams is the name of a company that makes quality camshafts Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
  23. Also ask CK-1999. He know quite alot about modding and racing an EX
  24. if its pretty deep go with a 500cc big bore kit. I did. the stroked rod bearing spins slower so in theory it wears out less and you can run 93 pump gas It will set you back 1000 for the kit. You should also add a cam, P&P, valves. Also the reverse oil flow mod with cooler helps keep the top end alot cooler. VERY important with an air cooled. Total should be with building $2400 - $2700. For less coin go with a 440 kit. I would recommend the oil cooler mod with any sort of internal work done to have that piece of mind From what your describing is you did all the bolt ons. now you have to break open the motor. Stock motor maybe a stage 1 from Hot Cams. remember you have to rejet your carb.
  25. Depends on your mechanical skill or how much money your willing to spend. Open up your airbox, rejet the carb, cam, 440 kit, port n polish all will help. Change the front sprocket to a 14t for more low end grunt. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
