  1. beats me u might be right though i think they stopped the 2 stroke sportsman in early 2000
  2. welcome to quadcrazy..hope to see you on here for a long time
  3. i didnt know they made 2 strokes for the sportsman that late in the 90's..learned something new
  4. that is awesome i think the memorial tattoos come out the best because their is so much thought and meaning behind the tattoo it really makes it one of a kind...it looks awesome great tribute to your Dad
  5. yea i agree a late 90's polaris would be a lot easier to work with because you wouldnt have to deal with 2 strokes and the amount of work it needs is not going to be as labor intensive..another reason i say this is because of all the people mine has been through... 1 person had a zip-tie rave and everything was zip-tied even the muffler.. another had a tape fase..another had a hose clamp fase.its been through so many people i forgot how many guys i was told owned it before me
  6. o she is a beauty congrats on the new cat
  7. thanks bot cant wait either..DirtDemon that paint is just like spray on rubber it is extremely flexible i tried peeling some off with my finger nail and it didnt work so i used a flat head screw driver i got a little off and the paint is like a rubber band its pretty stretchy i would definalty put 2 or more coats of paint on though one is just not enough.. and for colors it says that there are various colors to choose from but all i have found were yellow and flat black, so idk how big their color choices are
  8. thank u... i got the paint at home depot, i will keep u updated on how it holds up outside
  9. more work put about 10 hours into it prob more i dont know for sure but here is it all torn down and outside for a power wash to get 15 years worth of dirt and grease off [/img] next is the rear fender half painted to show the new color and the old plastic.. i know painting plastic has a lot of problems but i found this new paint called "plastic dip" the stuff is like spray on rubber it is very flexible and is pretty good with adhering to the plastic plus its very tough paint here it is entirely painted [/img] here is the exhaust i painted used to be a nice rust color took me a while to get it prepared for paint but i finally finished it...i used rust-o-leum outside grill paint made for high heat [/img] and finally this is me just putting in some detail
  10. hey guys u most likely have seen my threads asking questions about this atv..and now i would like to show u wat im working with..ill put more pictures up over time..cause i have done a lot to it but for now i will show u the beginning and will post more tomorrow[/img] sorry for the crappy picture phone was broke wen i first got it [/img] and here is a day after i got it
  11. hey welcome to quadcrazy!! their really is not that much detailed information online thats for free i.e. explaining how to correctly install a motor and all the wiring harness..so if that is what u need go here Yamaha ATV Repair Manuals: Big Bear, Blaster, Banshee, Warrior, ER, YFM, YTM, YFS i just bought a book from their for the polaris rebuild im currently doing..and the books are as detailed as u can get.. for parts u can go here http://www.yamahapartsnation.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx just put in all the info it asks for ur quad and it will show a listing of all the parts and u can buy from that site as well
  12. glad to hear he is expected for a full recovery...he is still in my thoughts and prayers...cant wait to see u on here Mr.8
  13. dont lean forwards is the best tip i could give u lol
  14. 2002 Can-Am Quest 650 ATVs here is a link comparing the two..the most noticeable differences are: -Brutes independent suspension over the bombardier solid rear axle. -brute has more power with a v-twin engine compared to quest single cylinder the brute is also bigger in both length wise and height wise -the brute is 150 pounds lighter then the quest -the brute had a locking front differential compared to the quests shaft driven front diff which means wen the quest gets stock only three wheels really spin when the brute gets stuck u have the option of locking the front diff so all 4 tires move simultaneously. -the only thing the quest had over the brute is an inch wider stance and the transmission comes with a "park" thats about it *even though the date might not be right to the atv ur looking at the model quest 650 has stayed the same throughout its life time as a bombardier vehicle all that changed over the years was the color
  15. he will be in my thoughts and prayers...i hope he makes a full recovery..he is a great guy and very knowledgeable...i hope he has a speedy recovery and i cant wait to see him on the forums as soon as possible
  16. i really like the Kawasaki strong machine very dependable...im not sure if they made a 750 with a solid rear axle(SRA), so if it is independent rear suspension i would check the rubber boots on all four axles for any wear, rips, etc.. pretty much everything that was said before is the best way of going at it, make sure u ride it and make sure everything is functional..check the 4x4 on and off switch the diff locker..u will be able to tell if it is locked on because steering it will become more difficult..check fluids..ask him to remove the seat and look under it( u most likely will have to remove the air filter cover)but wen u do all that it should give u a better view of the top of the engine so u can inspect more...last thing would be to check the frame for anything that would look out of the ordinary i.e. bends, cracks in welds and then check the under body..again like u said it does have 1500 miles so expect scratches in the plastics some dings and maybe rust spots..but all in all Kawasaki make very strong machines..how much is he asking for it if u dont mind me asking?
  17. yea man i hear ya..and thank you for fighting over in Iraq...ill keep looking but like you said atvs are catching a lot of crap over the years and finding a place near me is going be hard.. i have actually found a place up in the Lake George/Adirondack Area but thats a club so i dont think that will happen because of were i live..but all i can do is hope that something changes and theirs somewhere i can ride legally
  18. hey welcome to Quadcrazy...sounds like an awesome place i wish i lived somewhere were u can ride and camp...
  19. welcome to QuadCrazy..i really like the last pic...great job on the pictures
