there are people who have 30,000 miles on an atv...it all depends on how its been taken care of...now things do start to go after you have a lot of miles on it but as long as you take care of it the repairs will not put a huge whole in your pocket...just remember to keep up with general maintenance and you should be good for a very long time

finally got around to posting some pictures..hope you enjoy before paint..i just stripped the frame down as much as possible[/img] this is the frame after 2 coats of high gloss black.. here are the new(black) and old(red) springs i just got in the mail today close up of what the front struts looked like with the old springs and finally, the front after the new springs, frame being painted and the spring spacers put on

so u bought it used correct? do u know if the person before you put a clutch kit on? because a clutch kit takes away from ur top end speed..and gives u more low end torque so u can pull those 589s a lot better in the deep water, and mud

welcome to QuadCrazy. The problem you have would be that your shift linkage needs to be adjusted if it goes into low and reverse your problem would most like be that it is pretty simple to fix. When you try putting it in high gear does it sound like the gears are grinding a little? Check the oil level two in the transmission case

yea it is fun..but fixing something that has been outside for a year is ruff... every single bolt that i took off broke or is stripped and nothing was really taken care of on this bike...it was in such bad shape, im surprised all the electrical works..

***UPDATE*** Just ordered a bunch of parts..mounted the exhaust on..funny story about that broken bolt on the manifold i brought up in another forum..we bought drill bits and got the e-z out bits, they where working out well until my dad hit the e-z out just one to many times and on the 3rd hit it broke inside the bolt..and because the metal is so hard we tried getting it out but between frustration and anger, we just drilled a new hole right next to the broken bolt and now the exhaust is on...im currently redoing the front suspension. and im rebuilding the shocks i will post pics tomorrow of the before and after..everything that i ordered should be here in the next couple weeks so i can finally get this project going..MAN DO I LOVE EBAY.. o yea and im going to repaint the frame in the next few days

well i havent really taken that many pics because of the same reasons you have mike..ill post a few just at the local train track trails...how is lost trails atv park?? i have always been wanting to go their...anyway as for mods: warn winch with synthetic rope, 26"itp mudlites on itp rims, 1.5 inch moose lift(modified because they dont make one for independent cats) HL springs, raider hand guards, epi clutch kit purple secondary and orange primary springs, front and rear bumpers, and a k&n filter with pre-filter... i did break one thing that really sucked it was my right rear axle besides that nothing major and i have 975 miles on her here is one of the trails running along the taconic...might be posting some action pics of it in the swamp and at the race track... but as for now i only have 1 sorry fellas [/img]
