That’s because people like you come to get something free and offer nothing in return to the community that gave them something. Next time pay for a manual.

preach it!  lol I posted like 50 replys before I even got around to needing a manual...

What Ajmboy was referring to was the post. This website has a lot of technical resources available for the users of the site. Its a website and unlike social media, you don't get an instant response. Those who have the resources to share are only here on their spare time so a reply may be a day or two. Plus the way it was posted "I am just here to get a manual" is outright saying "once I get this manual, im gone" I wouldn't be too inclined to help that person either. Then on top of that to post 10 replies with only a number is childish, another reason to not help them either. A forum board is a community.

There is already a lot of people who do come here to ask a question about a problem, then someone provides some suggestions to help solve it, and they never post back that it fixed the problem, so we never know if our suggestions worked. We assume it did, because otherwise they would post back that it didn't work.

Its definitely worth the wait!!  and thanks to the folks helping me out on this site!!

I have to agree...it's a shame. Thanks for the comment!

it should be 10 likes on your replys to get a manual instead of 10 replys...  maybe that would work better?

I too joined this forum looking for a manual.  I joined to be a contributing member and not just "pad" my posting numbers to get a manual.  I poked around & found I like it here.  I made some posts and even started a club (Ride Red).  I also contributed photos & a service manual.  I am not here to be a lazy sponge.  Some people just don't get it!

hondas are low maintenance but have no performance  (like I said earlier, Yamaha rocks)  But thanks for doing more than counting.....

I found this forum while looking for a manual for a newly acquired sportsman 500 and decided to join after seeing diversity of the members. I would have joined anyway because of the wealth of knowledge and the eagerness to share. I agree with Ajmboy. A little participation is a small price for all the benefits here.

Thanks to all who contribute

I also came here back in 2015 looking for a manual. I was able to find one and forgot all about this place. I was researching another issue for a friend's quad and was re-introduced to this place by google.

I do have a few manuals I might be able to contribute, is there somewhere to upload them on here, or just respond to requests?

Check out the DLs Button on the top right of the page.

See if you have a manual that isn't listed there.

You can UL a file to the appropriate place there.

It is hard to find a forum with people whom actucally help. From my experience with other forums. Their  degrading or calling someone dumb due to others mechanical background or abilities.  So what I have seen so far, and the 1 question I have asked. And the quick response I have already received. I'm hoping to find a mechanic/buddy or two to teach me a thing or two. Maybe get a trail ride in. I will gladly share my outcomes, trials & errors.

The simple fact that this thread has not spun out of control speaks volumes to the conduct on the forum......I realize this is my first post.   I have spent some time on another forum, this thread would have played out differently.  I opened this one out of morbid curiosity.  Kudos to you guys.

It just speaks volumes to the quality of this forum.   I’m sure a lot of people get berated on other forums for not knowing about certain things.   We have helped so many and I feel so many helped me! You will never feel like a dummy here.  There was one member I forgot who it was maybe a week or two ago that said “the only stupid question is the question that’s not asked” I think that’s how it went.   #winning

All the years I've been on this forum, there have been a few "wise asses" that have been banned, but overall great people helping each other. Over the past few years its turned more into people joining for help than sharing pics, rides, etc. But that ok, its the facebook era and they reserve that stuff for facebook and Instagram I guess.

Can you tell I like this new Giphy feature??? LOL

This community has some great info, just use the search bar and you can probably find some interesting reading and solutions!

I have never joined Facebook and never will. I have Instagram and use it often as it’s more family orientated.  But I have seen a few stupid posts. But like they say there is always one as***** in the crowd!

I  am  on  Facebook and also  use Skype; although I don't use Skype nearly as much as I  used to.  When  Microsoft bought Skype  and started "improving" it  the made a mess of it as far as I'm  concerned . It went from an  easy to  use chat facility to  one using too  much of my screen  while complicating some things that were easy to  use.  I  am  also  in some other interest and community  groups/ forums. Facebook,  Twitter,  Instagram and Skype all have their followers and  users.  I don't use Instagram and seldom  check  Twitter.  My  main connection to  family and friends  is Facebook and Skype now is mostly to  chat with a friend in China since  for some reason  the PTB there  block  easy access to  Facebook   and Youtube.  Security can be set as tight  or  loose on Facebook   as you wish.  Facebook  has an added advantage in that  you  can  have interest groups with in it to  keep  up with  friends with shared interests without  having everything open  on your  main  page ..  I am in  a Ham Radio  group,  4x4 and quad group, a gardening group, one  on tropical  fishkeeping  as well  as  one on  internet  tv.

I try to help  out where I can , and otherwise  toss in  comments in the forums . It doesn't matter the activity or hobby, we all  started as complete  newbies, and asked our  share  of "stupid and easy"  questions  and others took the time to answer them .  Yes , there were the know it all  asses, but if you ignore them  they  soon  get tired and go away or an admin makes them  go  away.  There are no  stupid questions. If youdon't ask , you won't find the answer. Sometimes the answer to  your "stupid  question" also  helps others too shy or afraid to  ask for fear of ridicule  by the wise as* old timer who really isn't as wise and all  knowing he thinks he  is .  The really smart ones know you  can never  know all there is  on any subject and constantly  learn  new tricks. Sometimes those new tricks come from an  answer to  "stupid questions" . Those that  "just come for the  manuals" and leave  don't know  just how valuable a resource they  are overlooking  by doing so.

I've been a member here for quite a while, don't have much to ad as there are always people who know significantly more than me. While I understand the ten posts before downloading, I find it annoying.

Please understand that without member participation, you would not have a place to download that manual you need.  It's also a way for members who have not posted, to see how easy it is to participate here. We hope members see this and come back and take part in the community. There is nothing more valuable than insight from one another.

We also have an easy way to not get annoyed and not have to post....and that's with any of our paid memberships. https://www.quadcrazy.com/subscriptions 😁

It’s not about knowing more or less then any one  member. This is not just a forum for repair and help. It’s also a forum for posting your pics and showing others what your bike is like and the areas you ride etc.  there’s a ton of other stuff here.

I am going to close this topic and leave the last post as such..... If you join our community for only a manual, that's ok. But, you'll have to participate a little to be granted access to downloads as a free member. If you don't want to participate and would like immediate access, you can subscribe to one of our annual subscriptions, which bypass the need to participate.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

      New member here,
I have searched here and other places and have not found an answer to my problem.   As the title says I have a 2014 420 Rancher that recently started having an issue were the revs before the clutch engages.
I have checked the oil level (per the service manual) and replace the Valvoline ATV 10w40(less than 5 hours) with 10W30 GN4 for good measure. I have used the "pin" method to pull a DTC.  I shows a 8-1 which is a TPS error.  This makes some sense, as if the computer doesn't read throttle position correctly, it could have this symptom. I have checked the source voltage, and tested the TPS off the quad with a Fluke and a power supply at 5v.  It is smooth and does not seem to be a bad sensor. I am confused by the DTC, because the PS light blinks the code, not the check engine light.  However, there are no PS codes of that value.   This condition appeared after a couple days of driving in the cold (~32°) and driving though some water/bogs.
A couple questions.  First has anyone seen this issue, and do you have any suggestions? I have followed the troubleshoot right up to the point of replacing the ECU, which I don't seem to have one on the shelf :)
Second, anyone used a OBDII reader with an a 4pin adapter to pull codes?  If so, what system do you use?
Beyond the rev issue, the quad runs and starts perfectly and when it decides, the clutch grabs tight (no slipping)

I found a site that sells factory service manuals(type used at dealerships)and I thought I'd pass it along. They also sell some cheaper(inferior in my opinion)manuals as well. Repair Manual Catalog Online - RepairManual.com <--They had manuals for ATV's,motorcycles, lawnmowers, trimmers, etc.I've also seen FSM's available from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC I think this would make a good sticky;if the mods or admin would allow it...

      Hi there!
We just bought 4 acres and needed a work rig for moving stuff around and blazing trails. Been looking at buying a quad for a long time and finally got the opportunity.  Found a very good condition 1994 Kawi Bayou 300 4x4.  Runs great and seems to be in great operating condition with one little thing.
The unit seems to have an issue with reverse.  Previous owner did tell me about it and its totally usable but the issue is annoying enough that I want to try and fix it.  Im pretty mechanical oriented so don’t think this will (hopefully) be too much of an issue.  I bought the kawasaki shop manual on ebay and should be here next Friday but wanted to get a head start on it.

The issue seems to be similar to this post but I think may be more mechanical than just the switch.
      https://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/topic/14281-1994-bayou-220-neutral-safety-switch/

      Here goes!

Neutral light is always on when key in on position I found that the green wire coming out of the block from neutral switch is grounded to chassis.  When plugged in to switch light never turns on no matter what gear its in (and wont start). Machine can go from 1st directly into Reverse if you don’t feather it.  This is the part that that makes me want to fix it.  I feel like its dangerous and could possibly do some damage.  It usually takes 3-4 tries to 'find' neutral.   The reverse turn knob seems to be operable and cable is connected and operates the reverse 'selector' when turned.  Springs back when released both at the switch and at the 'selector' inboard of the shifter. When in reverse the red reverse light does not illuminate Based on above and looking at the post above it seems that this would indicate that the reverse stopper is 'broken' and rotated in an 'in gear' position.  I see a few posts on here where people have said it can crack.  If I plug the green wire back in and turn machine to 'on' I can move the shifter through all gears and the neutral light and reverse light stay off.  Again, to me it seems that the 'reverse stopper' is probably broken, stuck where the switch thinks its in a forward gear and the shaft is probably just spinning inside it.

Am I on the right track here?
I wanted to get a head start on this and looking at parts diagrams it looks like the part number for the 'reverse stopper' is 13091-1443, found one on ebay for $30 shipped.  I hate buying parts before tearing it down but if this is the likely culprit I would take a $30 gamble to buy it so I can have it on hand when the manual arrives.

The other question I have which I hope is an easy answer is none of the parts diagrams I have found show the bevel gear gasket part number.  Can anyone tell me what the part number is for this?

Many, many thanks for the info and I promise to post pics once I have it apart.
