I think you did a great job! I did something similar to mine and I spent many hours with the torch and blowdryer.

I use a little red and tacky between the seals and metal protector, it keeps the sand and mud out. Actually I am replacing the seals on my rear diff today. Now for the wires that were cut make sure to solder them and apply a little dielectric grease then melt some heat shrink over them. This way you don't have problems there in the future. -

2001 Kawasaki Bayou 300 fuel leakage problem
swampcat07 replied to eroark's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
Drain the fuel, clean the connection and apply a slight amount of RTV Silicone to the fitting, then clamp it with a real hose clamp. Make sure you let it dry and be careful not to get any inside the fuel line. Drying time should be a day+, then add fuel. If that does not work replace the fuel hose it may be stretched. -
2006 Can-Am Outlander 800 Overheats

Check the following: Remove the Radiator and clean it. Use a flashlight to shine thru the backside and make sure you can see light through all the fins. Add new coolant and make sure there is no air in the system. Now leave the cap off and rev the engine you should see the coolant disrupt the surface of the coolant in the radiator with the cap off (kind of like a ripple effect) if not maybe you should make sure the pump is working. I would also change the pressure cap if any of the above does not work. -

Looking good. A wire wheel makes easy work of sanding the exhaust. The hi temp paint lasts about a year but looks really good. I just use brillo on the header pipes and that makes them look good enough. Also take it for a spin before you put the plastics back on that is a blast, I smile ear to ear every time. -
Before buying a off brand quad please call the 1-800 number and try to order parts for them and see how the customer service is. When I am at the dealership negotiating a deal I call the customer service on speaker phone with the salesman next to me. I ask to order a part and see how helpful they are and how available the part is. Then I say the quad may still be under warranty and see how helpful they are to get it covered under warranty. A quad can be as cheap as it gets but if there are no parts or service after the sale then you will be in trouble.

I have seen alot of sport ATVs with a 4" PVC pipe right behind the front bumper with two twist off ends, It's waterproof and compact. -

Welcome to the Forum. 4X4 400 is fine. You might have to keep up with the snow when it is going to snow alot. I plowed with a 2X4 and as long as I was out there every 4-6" I was fine. With 4X4 you will have more of an advantage. If you are having a hard time you can always do some clutch work.

Are you watching the X Factor?
swampcat07 replied to Ajmboy's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
I used to be a big fan of some reality TV such as american chopper and now you can't believe a thing, everything seems staged and they edit what the people say out of context to cause drama. -

I thought they closed or something you had me going. Hope you had a good time. -
Here in PA a quick call to the state police is what I would do. They will run the vin for you. If it was stolen they will probably take it. You can be charged with receiving stolen property also but because you started the hunt I doubt that.

The thing I was not sure about is if it is electric then how do you manually move it. It would be cool if there was some way to look inside the carb and see it moving.
-
Ya its very small, I wouldn't worry about changing a thing I just wanted to let MudFlap know he wasn't crazy.

swampcat07 replied to Ajmboy's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
Nope, I feel a lot of it is staged/inflated for ratings, such as the judges arguments and the background stories of the contestants.
