    a lowrider quad ...
  2. that bucket holds alot of sand !!
  3. not sure what it could be then, were you in water and it got into the cylinder or mud that may have clogged your pipe? could've been a bad spring... i doubt it'll happen cause you'll have to put new valve guides and seals, get them to test the valve springs too
  4. what year is the recon? could have been a weak valve spring, out of adjustment, slack timing chain tensioner ...
  5. the dump buckets on these 797's are replaced regularly because they wear out from the sand. on the highway when the new buckets are delivered on flatbed semi's, they take up two lanes of highway ...
  6. big toys
  7. do you think it is more of a fuel problem as opossed to an electrical problem? how do you start it back up if you stop on a hill and it dies out?
  8. ok, stator is good because it runs when pull started. cdi box is good because it runs fine. voltage regulator is probably fine too. coil is good because it runs fine when pull started. how fast does the motor spin when trying to start with the electric start? if it isn't fast enough, it won't produce a healthy enough spark . it could be the battery or the starter, or both. also, what i would do is strip as much plastic away so you can check all your wiring. there could be a bare wire(s) touching the frame. check everywhere the wiring is tie strapped on and where there are wear/rub marks regardless if it is encased in a protective plastic. peel it away and look and you can always tape it back up. you could also have someone help you to see if there are flashes in a dark garage or outside while cranking it over with the starter motor.
  9. Hello and welcome to Quad Crazy GREENIE !! Have fun here !! And i know there are alot of members here from the PA State
  10. this might help out a little, has all the electrical specs ... WARRIOR 350XP SUPLLEMENT SERVICE MANUAL.pdf

  12. found a service manual '98-'01 beartracker ... Yamaha YFM 250XL(C) Beartracker '98-'01 Service Manual.pdf
  13. i thought i might have a beartracker service manual, but i didn't. it would have told me the specs for the electrical. i'm looking online now for it... but if you have a connection in the U.K., they might be able to send you the specs in an email too. just funny if it was a bad stator, it wouldn't run, or would have weak spark to the coil, but a coil can work cold until it gets warm and then fail...
  14. i think you are right and it is more electrical. if you can get the specs for the electrical, you might find the problem fairly easy. there is a minimum for the stator output and coil. there is a voltage regulator there i would think also. you can test meter all these and it will show you what is weak or lacking. i'm not sure if you can test the cdi box, but if your stator is showing well, and your coil, it might be the cdi, but you want to make sure first. a buddy of mine bought the rhino knock off from astro, and i think these chinese brands really skimp out on the electrical components from what i have seen. all his problems have been cheap electrical mishaps...
  15. you can take the muffler off and see if its clogged, i've heard of guys running a garden hose to flush it out too, if you undo the airbox lid and leave it off, does it make a difference?
  16. find some twist ties for the garbage bags and peel the plastic off and use those to clean the passages as best you can. the AC dealers might not be able to supply a carb kit, but a quick look on e-bay i saw some there .... Carb Jet Kit ARTIC CAT AC500 Std 99-00 Stage 1 NEW #372 | eBay you can always email these guys to make sure this is the part you need ....
  17. a wild looking beast !!
  18. GO BIG, BAD, and BLUE, or GO HOME
  19. dirty plugged up carb most likely. i would try and clean it and put a rebuild kit in.
  20. i think there is also another sensor in the shifter housing. what happens if you move and/or wiggle the shifter around? maybe a linkage problem too?
  21. i'd throw a new plug in it for the helluvit. i had a hard time getting one of my bikes going until i realized i never did put that new plug in and after i did, it ran... maybe your plug is fouled up ...
