  1. I don't have any lack of power on short hills, but when I get a long uphill road the ATV will slow way down to about 30KPH. If I work the throttle to give it more gas it just gets worse. Then if I let up on the throttle it runs better, but of course slows down even more. Am I looking at a carb problem, or what? I tried getting at the air screw, but can barely get a screwdriver in it and then can't adjust...won't turn at all. I cannot find a fuel adjustment screw anywhere I can see on the carb, and the manual does not show one. My plug is burning black, wouldn't that be too much fuel, and how do I correct that? It may be that the engine is flooding when I go uphill and throttle up.
  2. In the last five years I've had the pleasure to ride what I believe is one of the finest ATV's My '05 'Desert Edition' Honda Rubicon. From the desert flats in 100° heat to elevations of 10,000ft, in temps of 19° Through boulder infested dried up river beds and wash's and a occasional run in fender deep snow not once did I have to walk or be towed back to camp ! This has allowed me to rack up 9,200 issue free miles and the opportunity to ride and meet with some fantastic people across the state of Arizona and points beyond...it's been a most excellent adventure to say the least. At this point in my life I have come to the reality that I'm not as young as I once was and the need for an IRS suspension was becoming more attractive after a long day of exploring in the desert southwest. So I'd like to present My 2009 "Desert Hawk" Edition Rincon My goal for this unit was to have all of the thing's that made the Ruby the ultimate (for me) ATV with just a bit more snort and a cushy ride. With this idea and information I've read on all of the site's I visit I do believe my goal has been accomplished ! Nothing like this can be achieved with out some help so I'd like to give a shout out to the Staff of Coyote Honda in Avondale, AZ. ARIZONA'S LEVEL 5 Honda Powerhouse Dealer. Left to Right Parts Manager Matt Service Manager John, And Master Technician Dave who kept the Ruby in top running condition since 2005. This will be the last time I'll ever see this on the Rincon !

  6. Hi Everyone I bought my first clutch quad - a 2003 Honda 400ex in May. I have never rode it before because I am on the Land of NO-NOTHING concerning ATVs. I also have a Yamaha 200 Shaft Moto4 that is in Delaware County at my parents place. The land up there is being developed and most of the trails are gone. I don't ride up there anymore. I would like to ride out in PA at Reading Anthracite. Anyone go there? If anyone is from LI, would I be able to hitch a ride (quad too) as I dont have a tow vehicle yet. Im working on it. I would pay my own way and then some. Thanks

  14. I'm still cracking up over this one..... Some of you know I'm such a Luddite with ANYTHING mechanical/ATV related.... So, I'm working from home today and the land line rings...I'm thinking it's someone from the office.... But no, it's one of the guys I was supposed to ride with today; one of the other guy's Prairies went into "limp mode" while on the trail... Now, I'm thinking to myself, "I'm the LAST person ANYONE would call for ANY type of ATV mechanical help...." So, a Googling™ I go with info from them and find the work-around for the guy's problem.....I nearly pooped myself when they said it worked.... "Hello! This is Operator 47. How can I help you today????" Doh.... -TD
