General FYI on replacement parts

Happens to the best of us brother. Great topic post though. -
I think your coil is fine. Tester at 2000 you got a 0.2 reading. (within spec) no? Second test on the spark plug wire your at 4.5 (within spec) no? I think the coil is fine, the cap can be tested with a simple continuity test and worst case cut the spark plug wire back a half inch and put the cap back on. My guess is a ground failure maybe on the kill switch or elsewhere but i could be wrong. And agreed on the $7 bucks for a new coil for sh*** and giggles. Test your stator coil and pick up coil since your going through the motions.

Agreed. Worst case you wind up with arc marks on the relay from the sparks. Starting it shouldn't be a problem of the carburetor is correct and the choke works. So no starting fluid hopefully.

Nice work @JacobSlabach ! Good to see you back in action! -
Fyi @Colin Davis you can have access to the download section after 10 contributing posts in the forum or by becoming a paid member. The drop down menu is on the top right side, click on repair menu and then sub category. Scroll down to Yamaha and it's pretty much self explanatory from there.

Sounds like a plan! I like to use a wore wheel on the drill. Makes my life easier getting down to a good metal surface. They are resilient machines. Probably will never get ur money back but the hell with it. Learning experience and self pride for the resurrection of an old machine! -

2004 Yamaha bear tracker wiring harness?
Frank Angerano replied to Colin Davis's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
I could not find the sheets i had highlighted that really sorts the wires out so i pulled this from the library. Best bet is to print them and highlight. It helps a lot. Take a look at the drawing and you will see the cdi. Next to that is the plug configuration. Any help u need ask away. Take your time because you could kill the cdi with a mistake. -
KAZUMA REDCAT 250CC ATV ANTIFREEZE LINES/ CARB W PICS
Frank Angerano replied to Ellery Zandt's topic in Kazuma ATV Forum
Double check the reservoir for any connections, i doubt it bc its a pressurized system but you never know. The only other way to check is to put a pump on the radiator cap. Put pressure in the system and see where you have coolant coming out. You will have to block off the port on the thermostat housing with a piece of hose with a bolt in it. They sell a multi pump for all types of radiators at Harbor freight that pressurizes the system to help find leaks. I am sorry but i am not familiar with the Kazuma brand. I looked for the manual but don't see it in the library.- 8 replies

They do. I have two kits for my Hondas and they look so so. Im waiting on tires and rims for them and plan on putting them in. If the plates give me any sh** I'm fabricating new ones at work. Which ones you looking at for the springs, twist in or the expansion type?

It could work I suppose. Probably look cool too! 🙃

99 kodiak hard to shift out of reverse
Frank Angerano replied to Dwight Williams's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
The reverse knob goes to a cable thats connected to the lever on the engine obviously however inside that engine cover under the lever is called a reverse cam stopper. There is a spring inside thats not returning the cam or the small cam lost its lobe. This is obviously designed to prevent you from downshifting all the way, bypassing neutral and into reverse while the atv is moving forward. This would result in a catastrophic failure on the drive train. As far as how it works its simple, you downshift all the way to neutral and turn the knob and downshift into reverse and let the knob go. In order to get out its a simple upshift. You should have indicator light on the dash as well for reverse and neutral? -

Nice work so far brother ! Was the seat completely gone or just the cover ? Air box is a bi***, but everyone knows we need em! This is why i always tell other members that wind up with bad deals on bikes (not referencing you) to hold on and part them out. An eBay account is easy to set up and they can even make more then they bought the atv for!!! I hold on to carburetors, cdi boxes etc whenever i find one beyond repair. Cant hold on to everything but it would be nice too lol. Anyway your doing great and its a good feeling bringing an old bike back from the dead! -
KAZUMA REDCAT 250CC ATV ANTIFREEZE LINES/ CARB W PICS
Frank Angerano replied to Ellery Zandt's topic in Kazuma ATV Forum
As far as the vacuum connections on the carb, they will usually go to a fuel pump thats operating off of the vacuum. Check the fuel petcock and see if you have two hose connections.- 8 replies

2004 Yamaha bear tracker wiring harness?

KAZUMA REDCAT 250CC ATV ANTIFREEZE LINES/ CARB W PICS
Frank Angerano replied to Ellery Zandt's topic in Kazuma ATV Forum
Hey @Ellery Zandt welcome to Quadcrazy. FYI you should never post your email here. That line usually goes from the thermostat housing cover to a connection near the water pump. What its designed to do is allow some coolant to circulate through the system when the thermostat is closed. Its like a small bypass. I'm not sure on the Kazuma but if you can post a few more pics of the water pump area maybe we can help you out.- 8 replies
