  1. I was there at one point. Right now I have four atv’s and one dirt bike. Going to get rid of at least one quad and the dirt bike.
  2. Wow that sounds scary, by the topic it sounded like YOU got impaled!!! The lever/shifter prob just got bent. It should run fine with it bent. Juts make sure there is nothing blocking the shifter so it goes completely into the gear you want. That is the hand shifter on the left side by the fender correct ? When your ready to repair it then remove it from the machine and heat it up and bend it back to where it was. If your not sure what it looked like before it was bent then look the part up and it will give you an idea of what it looked like. You can also buy another shifter just to be safe.
  3. I can’t help but to look as a drive now. I see sh** all the time. I actually pressure washed the bear tracker and fired it up. She runs good, took it out for a spin last night. I think I’m going to bring her up to the new property and leave it up there for the hunting season. Time to install the lift kits and bigger rims and tires on the ranchers so I need a little room.
  4. I don't know why the jets are the same but my guess over all would be the air/fuel mixture screw being worn. Put the oem rebuild kit in from ex caliber and see what happens.
  5. That’s a smart move having that extra foot rest. Wiring fixable ?
  6. I’m in NY southern zone. I’ve seen some big deer and a bunch of little guys. They are all spread out now. This new guy here showed up this weekend. Haven’t seen him until now. Nice big bodied deer. Racks are good but not like the monsters near you and Ohio and other states but I’ll take it.
  7. It’s like buying a car on a rainy day there’s no squeaks or noise. Everything else is manageable but the oil plug is a bi***! CANT WAIT FOR RIFLE SEASON!! got some big racks this year. They are all nocturnal now. I went from over 1000 pics of these guys all hours of the day to maybe 20 and they are all in the middle of the night and with a doe.
  8. Nice work @Spartacus Stroppel I started doing this a few years back and have had great success. I order my own material from amazon now and make all kinds of seat covers. They sell material by the yard for $8 and $10 bucks so I get at least two seat covers out of one piece of fabric. I do a lot of molding work for houses and use my compressor for my nail gun so I went and bought an air staple gun, it makes life a lot easier.
  9. I would agree @Spartacus Stroppel IF THE BOOT was not torn in a few spots. But if he’s going to replace it anyway like he said then yes I would open it up/cut it off before it’s taken apart so you can see where and if it’s an alignment problem. A boot with holes is useless. It needs to be replaced along with the seal that’s leaking.
  10. Probably not the battery, it’s either a bad starter/brushes or a starter relay. Easy test is to jump the two wires on the starter solenoid and see if the starter cranks. The wires are the two larger ones with the nuts holding them on the solenoid. ONLY DO THIS FOR A SECOND! If the engine does not crank then the starter need to be replaced.
  11. Holy crap @Ajmboy which one was it, Alvin, Simon or Theodore? 😂 You had the footrest laying around ? That’s great. My bear tracker had a mess as well. Just not sure what type of rodent did it. Why do they always go for the battery or the air box compartments???
  12. Should be 125. Look up ex caliber oem carb kit. It’s factory sized jets and also includes the air/fuel screw. Should be 125 if I remember right.
  13. Nice work with the oil plug. That boot does not look like it’s sitting correct, it seems cocked and could also be the cause of that seal leaking under the boot. Maybe it’s just the pic but it looks like it’s not aligned right. That rear swing arm does have to be I bolted so it can swing away from the engine. The four bolts have to come off. What I would do if I were you is since the boot had holes in it already is cut it off and find the leak. See if it’s coming from the rear seal of that bevel gear. You will also have a good look at the alignment with that boot off. Lastly I would check the bushings on the swing arm right at the frame.
  14. Ok great. I’ll have a highlighted diagram to take you through it. Btw amazon has that ignition switch if you need it. It’s like $15 bucks.
  15. Is it a 220, or a 300? Both are pretty much the same diagrams but I would like to be sure which one is for your bike because of the red wire for the lights. First things first do you have your dash lights and neutral lights working? If so great then let’s move on to the solenoid. On that solenoid there are three wires; white (comes from ignition key switch), Black (comes from the start circuit relay) that’s the relay that allows the bike to only start when it’s in neutral, and then the black/yellow stripe (general ground) Depending on what model the bike is the small red wire comes from the battery or from the switch on the handle bar. Either way it’s for the rear lights. Front lights are red with a yellow stripe if I remember correctly. If you have a red wire near the battery then It goes to the positive terminal and should have an in-line fuse. I would have a tester or test light ready and turn the key on, put a tester on the white wire at the solenoid and see if it’s 12v+ If not then you have to go to the back of the ignition switch. The black/yellow stripe runs through the harness and is the general ground for everything on the bike including lights. Keep in mind that the start solenoid has a fuse on it also so double check that’s good before you do this and have an extra fuse or two. I’m heading upstate for the day but start there I will try to get back to you with a diagram once I know what size the bike is.
  16. Hey @Andrew Baker welcome to Quadcrazy. So what’s going on with the harness you said it’s hacked up pretty good. Do you know whats missing or disconnected etc ? I can help you out but need to know what’s left of the harness and where you need help. If you can, post a few pics of the areas that are hacked up and in the meantime I will get you a diagram to help you along so you can figure out what’s going on.
  17. Hey @Tinscissors 428 welcome to Quadcrazy. Haven’t touched a blaster in a while but my guess it’s time for a new piston and rings. Great bikes but def not a long lasting piston and rings kinda engine. You could confirm this by doing a compression test but that’s where my guess would be. A fresh piston and rings and some new gaskets and it will kick right over.
  18. That’s great news! Glad it worked out, ride safe and be sure to stay in touch, post some pics of your rides ! Quadcrazy is not only a site for help, we like to shoot the sh** here and share our experiences. Anything goes here brother!
  19. @Ajmboy just got some time to check the cams. A bear showed up and some turkey too! He’s a medium bear but he showed up three different times maybe every two days. Also have a fox and a fisher on cam. This place is loaded with wild life!
  20. @Ajmboy there is nothing better then rolling up and pulling a bike out of a garage, barn or the weeds and the anticipation of tearing it down and bringOmg it back to life. It’s like solving a mystery finding out what’s wrong. Especially knowing what you can sell it for once it’s back to good.
  21. Does that speedometer have a setting to convert to mph ?
  22. I remember you telling me what he charges you and I can’t argue with them prices. That dealer you use is very fair. I do make money on the bikes I’ve rebuilt some of the profit is great and some are ok but rebuilding them is the fun part. Especially for my son he loves when I give him the look that I found a bike we are going to go pull out of someplace. Once we ran out at 9 pm on a Sunday night after I seen a post for a honda fourtrax that was just posted. The post said call and make me an offer. I was joking and said $100 ?? He said can I do $125!!!!! Lol I said only if I can come get it right now and he said yes lol. Needless to say it was a great bike which I redid had to throw in a cdi and sold for $2200. As far as tools go I have just about everything now including my lift which saves my back !!!!
  23. Ohms is fine I want to see if the magnet triggers the pick up coil.
  24. Disconnect the pick up coil and connect it to the tester and pass the magnet by it slowly and see if it triggers the tester.
