Frank Angerano replied to Jeff Comstock's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
When the power is turned on does the neutral light come on when in neutral ? -
For that price new would be tough but !! 2019 Polaris 450 H.O ! Has everything your looking for and the MSRP out of the dealer $6250. Most likely can get it down to $5900. Used with $6k you can do a lot as well with a few different brands and it will be in mint condition!

05 Kawasaki 750 brute force problems
Frank Angerano replied to Christopher Freshwater's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
I don’t know if that’s the case, could be but you would have a lot of black smoke from the exhaust? Make sure your not running a hot plug and make any adjustments you think on the carb if you know where to set it and give it a shot. If not look for the usual suspects like the thermostat and water pump. Check the coolant etc. -

Testing help for coil on 99 bayou 300
Frank Angerano replied to Jeff Comstock's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
It may not have anything to do with a stator or any other coil for that matter. Could be. A short someplace that’s causing this to happen. Check the kill switch for water, a worn harness that’s rubbing against the frame allowing a conductor to Loose it’s outer vinyl and hit the frame, bad or intermittent ignition switch? If you still feel it is a coil then maybe check the secondary coil ? Could be getting hot and breaking down. The pick up coil was replaced with the stator I’m assuming since they are bundled. Your tests included each phase (wires coming from stator) each wire one at a time to ground for continuity? And phase to phase was in spec ? -

Polaris Sportsman 500 Speedometer

If he’s got one he will let me know. He’s a bit of an air head so I have to stay on top of him. as far as the other goes I’m not sure what the workings of it is. If it’s a direct wire up or by gps. Some of them come with a sensor that’s picked up by gps. I will be in touch.- 4 replies

Polaris Sportsman 500 Speedometer
Frank Angerano replied to Christian Brindle's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
Hey brother sorry I did see this the other day and got side tracked. So I looked around and yes it’s a pricey item. Used they are $100 plus. New $250, however there is a cheaper aftermarket is a universal one that fits the 500 sportsman. I found one on eBay. I asked a friend in PA that has a junk yard for atv’s especially Polaris bikes. He’s going to take a look. Take a look at eBay and use a few different keywords used, aftermarket etc I double checked the years that the part number is the same and it’s from 99 -01 so you have three years of used bikes to try and locate If you can post a pic of yours especially if you have it removed I would like to see the front and back. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113185920700- 4 replies

Ha we just heard his story from another member who had a similar problem. Turns out that when he was rebuilding the top end he put the coolant hoses on and reversed them by mistake. I don’t know if you or anyone else worked on the atv but look there first. -

It’s a good point @Steven Turner but fortunately it was the compression release. CV carbs must be properly cleaned including the vacuum ports so def a good point. -

Hey @Ajmboy and @06kfx440 I’m thinking of picking up a small pressure washer like that. Quick easy set up ? I love my gas washer but I need quick and easy for this type of stuff. So worth it and easy set up ? -

I seen the one you posted and the price was good as well. I grabbed the behr one that dries in 60 min and it had a built in stain. It’s also oil based. I was planning on going up yesterday so I needed something that dried fast. Plans changed after I seen the weather but I think I made the right choice based on the way it came out. I also went to my local hardware store and they told me the same thing about Thompson’s. I wonder what the real story is and I bet your right @Ajmboy it’s a bunch of bs. -
Absolutely have them fix it. But print out some of the recall and problems posted on line and bring that with you. If you touch the wiring they will void your warranty.

Can’t see the video. I did a quick search on that problem and the remedy seems to be a replacement plug/harness. Looks like the injector plug and about 10 inches of wire that comes with a splice kit. Sound right to you?

That sucks!! It’s a bi*** when them trees jump out in front of you! Hope he’s ok. Well if it’s a constant thing then the dealer should feel and be able to address it. How was the trip to Wisconsin, trails good ?

My first trailer project.
Frank Angerano replied to Frank Angerano's topic in ATV Trailers, Haulers, and Attachments
Stained, sealed and ready to roll! This weather is a good indicator how the water will bead up on the wood and see how well the sealer worked. FYI did anyone know Thompson’s water sealer has been banned in the state ? I went to the store to get some and they said it’s no longer available here in NY due to a chemical that is harmful. I wound up using a new oil based product that seems to be good but we will see. -
I would bring it right back in and explain and let them ride it. My guess is a balance issue or like I said someone maybe went over something like a rock etc. Have you checked all the rims and tires including the inside for any damage ?

This may sound weird but you can check all the axles and shafts for a bend but it’s a pain in the as*. I’ve checked drive shafts and axles for bends by getting the wheels off of the ground so they all spin free. I took a piece of 1/2 inch copper pipe that’s two feet long and drilled a small hole through the pipe at the end. I stuck a 3 inch long screw into the pipe all the way through so the last 2-1/2 inches are sticking out the other side of the pipe. I took the pipe and placed it where I can clamp it to the frame of the bike and the screw is close to and pointed at the shafts your looking at. The screwtip should be just under a 1/4 inch from any axle your looking at. Rotate the wheels by hand so the axle spins and see if the shaft gets closer to the screw tip or even hits it. If it does mark that spot with a marker. In addition to and before going through all of this you should start by looking for any obvious damage to the shafts first. I attached some pics for you to help visualize what I’m talking about.

Honestly sounds like a bent or improperly balanced drive shaft or axle.
