  1. I know it sounds stupid but have you checked your battery ? Could be a dead cell that will show a little power. Also it could be your regulator/rectifier. Take a tester when the bike is running and test the voltage at the battery during idle and rev it as well and see if it fluctuates on the tester.
  2. Hey Gary welcome to Quadcrazy. Did you try to test from each of the stator wires to ground one at a time with a continuity tester? If you get a reading on any of the wires to ground then it’s a dead shirt inside the stator coil. Also with regard to the kill switch do the same for continuity testing as well as open the switch up and check it for water inside.
  3. What do you mean a spark tester ? Did you go the conventional route and put the spark plug on the wire and hold it against the cylinder head and crank the engine to see a good blue spark ?
  4. You have to get into it and start to trace things out. Get to the back of the Speedo and look, there should be a cable based on the year but I’m not sure unless I go through the manual. It could be electronic also but I’m sticking with a cable. Download the manual and start to get familiar with the machine.
  5. So your saying that if you pull the spark plug out and crank the engine with the start button you have spark ? Fuel is good ? If so then this makes no sense. Is it an oil injected engine or pre mixed ?
  6. That’s great news on the fan. As far as the awd goes its the same premise. 12v brings in the awd so take the tester and see if you have 12v on one of the wires on the push button. If not start tracing it back to the power source, maybe a fuse. If you do have 12v on one wire then test the other wire and press the awd button to make sure the button is working. If it does send 12v through the button to the outgoing wire your testing then keep tracing it foreword to the controller or solenoid that brings in the awd. It will lead you to the bad or faulty part OR maybe another broken wire!
  7. No worries. Just take your time and you can do it. It’s not rocket science brother. Any questions ask away. You have a ton of support here.
  8. There you go, that’s great news. Simple things first. Ride safe!
  9. If it’s idling high then yes that would be it, especially if it’s cold. Let it warm up and see where it idles. Should be around 800-1000 at best. If the fan does not come on when you jump the two wires then check for 12v on one of the wires. Either a test light or a tester/meter, one on ground and the other to any one of the two wires. One of them should show 12v, if not then there’s a problem with power. if you do have 12v and the fan is not coming on when you jump the wires then the fan is prob bad OR the fan ground has failed so check that as well if the ground is good then it’s a bad fan motor.
  10. Cairo NY. There were 1300 on the cam @Ajmboy I was blown away. ThatS only a handful of what was on the cam. I set up a second one on the opposite side of the property. I will have more posted soon.
  11. Right I did read you said it’s fuel injection. Ok well go with a fresh plug and see what happens. Hopefully that’s all it is.
  12. Yes it’s just a matter of exposing the cam sprocket and the plug thats on the flywheel to expose the “T” mark. But before you get into all that go over the basic sh** first like the boot that connects the carb to the engine to make sure there aren’t any cracks, put a new spark plug in just to be sure. Go over the kill switches to make sure there not flooded with water and it’s an intermittent short. Make sure it’s good gas and no water got into the tank.
  13. Welcome to Quadcrazy @Josh Cummins. Have you noticed if the cooling fan comes on? If not then locate the sensor on the radiator and you should find two wires going to it. If you take those two wires off while the key or engine is ON, jump the wires together and the cooling fan should come right on. If so then the sensor is probably bad. You can test it but it’s not worth it, just replace it. If you have seen the fan running then it could be a bad thermostat or water pump. I would lean more toward a thermostat. Make sure you order a gasket with it. If the fan is not coming on at all then there are two fuses that could stop that fan. One is at the fuse box and the other is an in-line fusable link that’s going to the fan.
  14. Got out with the boy the last two weekends to do some riding and set up for hunting on the new property. 42 degrees this am up there! Set up some new tree stands and cameras to see what’s moving around last week. Got up to pull the card from the cams, well surprise surprise there were some big bucks running around! Anyway back to the big city grind for another 5 days and we are out of here again Friday night!
  15. Only thing I can think of is the timing jumped? Any backfire problems? Other then that maybe bad gas?
  16. Hey @Travis Johnson welcome to Quadcrazy. Post a new topic in the forum and make sure you put the year make and model. We will help you out.
  17. Hey @KINGSIZE welcome to Quadcrazy. wen taking the carb apart to clean you have to break it all the way down to make sure all the passages are clear. Here is a topic on properly cleaning a carb, give it a shot and take your time. After this is done she will fore right up and it will be a matter a making some minor final adjustments to dial it in.
  18. Could be a head gasket ? Spray the head down with soapy water and crank it up. See if any bubbles show up. If not then it’s the usual suspects, valve seals or piston/rings.
  19. Welcome back brother. I’m going to stick with the valve seals. I would change the seals now especially because you have the head off. If you want to throw the piston on that’s fine. Or at the very least new rings.
  20. That all depends on the color of the smoke. If it’s black smoke then it’s just the choke and a cold engine. If it’s a stuck ring which would be unlikely and more so valve seals then the smoke would blueish. Basically oil is seeping through the valve seal and making it’s way into the cylinder head and burning off when you fire it up.
  21. Yep a good carb. So go through the carb and the manual and set it where it needs to be. Then double check the choke as well and see that it’s properly seated.
  22. I agree but I would not want it coming loose! Get it tight and where you need it and let it be!
  23. No worries brother. Just pay attention to what your buying and like I said if the machine is all stock then go with the oem parts. Anything else you need Quadcrazy is here to help you along.
