  1. That is correct @Freezeman thank you for clarifying that. @Chris2018 that looks correct with the timing. When you have the cam chain tensioner tight rotate the engine without the spark plug installed and make sure it cycles nice and smooth. You can use your hand and slowly push the kick starter down nice and easy. Feel for any hits or resistance and check that the marks line up on the sprockets as you rotate the engine and the piston hits TDC again.
  2. So here are a few cool shots from the camera that I figured I would post. Never seen a deer come so close to the camera like that.
  3. Correct. Bottom left front rail of the frame. If it’s gone then post a picture of the engine number.
  4. Putting a new plug in will most likely NOT solve your problem. It’s one of three things. 1. bad valve seals which is a condition of oil in the valve cover getting by the valve stem seals and leaking into the cylinder head. 2. bad rings and oil blow by from the rings is causing this condition. 3. A rich fuel condition is causing the plug to blacken. Could be just a simple adjustment on the carburetor air/fuel mixture screw.
  5. Dam that’s a hell of a knock. I herd the same thing on my bayou 400 and 220 as soon as I reved it a bit it went away. Turned out to be a clutch adjustment. I heard it coming from the clutch side. Hope it’s the same for you .
  6. No worries brother that’s what Quadcrazy is here for! How did it work out ?
  7. Yes sir it is getting colder! Walked out this am and made a u turn to grab a jacket! Dark mornings and dark afternoons as well. I told my kid to get ready for bed last night or what I thought was last night because it was dark! My oldest said dad it’s only 7:15. I felt like it was 9pm!!!
  8. No it’s not I wish it was. It’s on someone else’s property that owns 300 plus acres. He lets us ride as we want. The cars are on that property as well. A very cool bit of history on that land especially that old tv repair truck. RCA Victoria !! Been around a long time.
  9. The positive about these boots is they are great for tick protection around your cuffs of the paints. Tuck the paints into the boots spray one good ring of spray around the calf area of the boot and your good to go.
  10. I wear muck boots when I ride. There are two brands I use. One is the actual brand “muck” boots. They are black and have a material that’s made out of almost like a divers suit from above the ankle up to the top of the calve so it’s expandable. The other is called Extra Tough or Servus boots. All good stuff for what your looking for.
  11. Yes the T needs to be on the mark on the flywheel cover.
  12. What made you change all them parts without testing them first? I’m only asking not criticizing. Just trying to figure out why you changed all that. It could be the cdi but there are a few variables as well. Kill switch, shorted wire, regulator/rectifier etc. Was the bike running before ? Did you get the bike broken ? let’s get a little background going on the bike and I’m sure we can help you out.
  13. Hey brother sorry been busy. Getting the timing right is a bit of a bi***. It’s a matter of getting that chain in the right spot because when u tighten the chain tensioner it moves the cam spot back a bit. It’s a matter of touch so move it a bit forward on the sprocket and tighten the tensioner and see if it lines up if not go a tooth further.
  14. That’s great. Always go the simple route first. Usually something minor especially when you know you have spark. Great work, ride safe.
  15. Very nice. Looks like the coons made friends with the deer. I got out this weekend again and did a whole bunch of different things. I was prob not to far from @Ajmboy. We went to Davis firing range in Goshen to play around with the rifles. I have to say my 30-30 after 10 plus years of replacing my and dialing in my scope it’s still spot on. I posted a pic of the target at 100 yards. I got my oldest a 243 he is a great shot also but didn’t take a pic of the target, he’s all in the kill zone if the opportunity presented itself. Then we took the cross bows out for a little fun on the property and did a ton of trail riding. We are making a ton of new friends by the new property. @Ajmboy the property is surrounding other owners, no state land. We have 50 acres behind us that belongs to a nice older gentleman who has given us permission to hunt and ride so between his 50 and our 30 acres we have plenty of room. We added some tree stands and more cameras as well. Here’s a few pics of the things we did and one camera that we set up on the back end of the property where a big buck is hanging out but he’s solely nocturnal since we have only seen him on camera after midnight. This is one night of pics. The other cam had 1730 pics!!!! Monster bucks and fat raccoons. I will post some prob tomorrow. We also found some really old cars on a piece of property we rode. The land owner who owns the hotel we stayed at gave us permission to ride it and explore. It’s about 300 acres, unreal. Looks almost like moonshine runners cars but prob not and just my imagination. I’m bringing this kid up the right way and truly want him to understand what hunting, fishing and appreciation of the land we have. it’s not about going in the woods and killing an animal. We have let many deer walk away and only shoot a deer when it’s the right time and the right deer!! We make a ton of jerkey and roasts etc. I see him get a little sad when we head back to the city and that’s a good thing because he knows what he has up there so he looks forward to coming back. Side note: he rides like a champ, I see it in him as he makes his turns and the way he leans and maneuvers his atv.
  16. Could be the starter relay, have you looked into all of the components of the electrical side of the bike. Check the relay and see what happens when you jump it. See if the engine cranks, there is also a neutral safety switch that you should look into as well. There are also other relays as well within the starting system so bottom line is your going to have to go part by part and check everything. If your not clear on how things work then feel free to ask.
  17. Lol yes you do. Me too though, my guess is that people do crazy sh** to there bikes OR it’s a broken bike and everyone and there mother’s are “mechanics” and try to fix them and tear into wiring etc. Although this is a hobby it also takes some brains to work on this type of sh**.
  18. I would assume that as the piston goes down and takes in air through the intake with an open throttle that allows more air intake thus more volume and more to compression on the way back up . Makes sense now never thought about it really.
  19. Me too. I looked it up as well but what I want to know is why?
