Look at this Mojave, I wanted to buy it for parts for the one I just rebuilt. I needed the air off of it and some nonsense parts as well as maybe taking that cdi for stock. He was firm on $300. I told him $100 bucks to take it away. He told me I was crazy. I said nobody is going to take it for that price! It’s buried in weeds and missing a lot of stuff. So I said $150. He said nope so I walked away. He has messaged me 10 times now for $150 he said he has to get it out of his yard. The last message he sent was $100 will be fine. Unfortunately I made my own air filter set up and no longer need the parts. Some people think that they have gold!!! @Ajmboy did you check out that post on the Mojave?
-
Great question @Ajmboy so I always look in the $1000 range. Most people don’t know what the value is so they list a machine that’s really worth $500 or less for $1000. When I get there I go through the bike and start to negotiate from there. Most people want it gone and when they see cash it’s a done deal. Perfect example is the Mojave that I just rebuilt. The bike was listed for $850 put it in my truck for $300. Bike didn’t run and the owner didn’t know much about it. The bayou I did the black one I picked that up for $250 owner wanted $750. Sold that for $1600. My bayou 400 I paid $400 put another $250 maybe $300 and sold it for $1800 Other owners have held to there price and I had to walk away. I check Kelly blue book to see what the values are and use my past history on what I have sold before. I know that utility atv’s sell better then the performance atv’s in general. I also use a lot of different keywords like atv needs work or not running etc when looking and use craigslist, letgo and marketplace for atv’s. I also have a habit of looking in peoples yards while I’m driving and have knocked on a door to ask if it’s for sale!

The black plug is from a super rich fuel condition. Not any burnt up rubber. -

Def a good idea but last year I mentioned the hunting thing and didn’t get a big response so I let it be. Some people don’t like the hunting and killing was what I was thinking. But maybe this year! -

Hey @Jedediah what’s going on what kind of atv do you have and what problems are you having ? Your able to download the manual here at Quadcrazy by either participating on the forum or being a paid member. Participating on the forum is pretty straight foreword and requires you to have 10 or more contributing posts. Just don’t be like some of the other morons that come along and start posting random junk thinking it’s going to work. The keyword here is contributing! As far as your atv goes any questions you may have I’m sure will be answered here. Welcome to Quadcrazy and enjoy the site. -

Frank Angerano replied to Chase Cook's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
Welcome to Quadcrazy @Chase Cook It sounds like a typical carburetor cleaning. Have you taken the carburetor off of the machine and broken it down to clean it ? Also have you looked into gas tank to make sure it’s clean and no rust and junk inside and the fuel valve is free flowing ? That would be my first move. Throw a fresh spark plug in as well and my guess is it will run fine. -

1999 suzuki king quad fuel pump/petcock/carb advice
Frank Angerano replied to Dra O's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
The three ports on the carb are as follows: one port on the side should be marked IN that should clearly be marked. The other one on the opposite side will not be marked. That’s the one that goes to the carburetor fuel inlet. The third one on the back of the pump is the vacuum line that activates the pump. That line also goes to the carburetor. It’s on the opposite side of the fuel connection on the carburetor. What happens is when you crank the engine the vacuum created in the carburetor moves the diaphragm in the pump. The vacuum that’s created is a pulsing vacuum it sucks in and the internal spring pushed it back out when there’s a break in the vacuum pulse. If that vacuum line going to the carburetor is cracked or has a leak it’s not going to pump. If the carburetor is dirty and that internal port for the vacuum line is blocked it’s not going to work. So if you have any doubts about the carburetor being cleaned then get after it and take it apart. I posted a topic on carburetor cleaning, take a peek at it I’m sure it will help you along if you can’t find the post let me know. Make sure your pump is not installed upside down and the lines are reversed. Lastly is sometimes the pump has to be primed. Connect up the fuel pump to the petcock but not to the carburetor. Put a clean long hose on the pump and lightly suck in on that hose a few times and see if you get fuel out of the outlet hose that goes to the carburetor. As far as the petcock goes there is a plate on the inside that directs the fuel so make sure that’s installed correctly if you took it apart or just put a new one in right out of the box. Battery could have a dead dead cell and won’t hold a charge. Replace it especially if you get this fuel line thing corrected you don't want to go into the winter with a bad battery. Hope this helps. Good luck. -

I realized while I was putting the back together the air box was missing a big part. Shame on me for not realizing. Anyway the parts are well over $200. Found other Mojave bikes that I was going to buy to to pull parts but all missing the air box parts I needed and spending the $200. So I decided to make some parts and order a filter. Total $18 bucks. The first pic is what I did the second is what it should look like. Thoughts ????

Whenever I find a bike that I buy for parts and won’t need after I’m done tearing it down I keep all the bolts. I have a sorter and try as best possible to match them up. This bike I just finished needed bolts. I went to the bins and boom I had what I need. Never throw metric bolts away they are like gold when your in a jam. Especially for the plastics. Most common sizes are 8,10,12,14mm on these machines. I keep em all!!!!!!

The best way to find that out is to look up the part number for the cylinder for each bike and see if the number is the same. I looked up the part number for the 200 and 225 and it was the same so it could work. But keep in mind that all sh** rolls downhill when you upsize it’s re-jet for the carburetor, exhaust may be tight with too much back pressure, so you can’t just go with a bigger piston and think your going to be ok. I would prob go the route of boring the existing cylinder and re-jet the carburetor in accordance with the bore and piston size. As far as exhaust goes after that it would be a matter of changing the silencer/baffle.

Here’s the schismatic for that bike the parts numbers are listed. https://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/50a64221f870022674af672b/guard

1996 Kawasaki Mojave KSF250 No Spark
Frank Angerano replied to Chris2018's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
Feel free to take as much of the paint scheme as you like. I like the black because it gets the most wear and tear down there with the feet. A bright color would show everything. That chain was $20 bucks on eBay. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273576057240 -

Wow that’s a lot of parts. Great work on the research! Happy to hear the top end is in good shape. Hopefully all else is well and you can slam that thing back together when you get the cams back. Great update. Let us know how it all turns out!

It looks great for that price. I have one that Ive used before but it’s $40 All Balls Racing 26-1071 Carburetor Rebuild Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I4ON6SQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_IMuEDb21SJP61 -
That’s exactly what I was figuring. I was going to list it for $1600 and try to get $1500-$1400. We will see how it goes. I still have some flashy stuff to add on before the week is out so I will get that done see if it looks any more attractive. Thanks for the input.

A little update!! Got it all back together for the most part, just waiting on a few more goodies (cosmetic stuff) to show up that were on back order. They should be here tomorrow afternoon! Going to post up a few more pics after that. Took it for a ride and it runs like a champ. It’s fast as heck for a 250. Very surprised about that and it handles pretty good. Cooling fan kicks in at a perfect 186 degrees and it idles perfect. Prob going to let the oldest run with it for a minute and sell it. Any guesses on what it’s worth ???
