That is not a fusible link, it is a diode to prevent backfeeding into the electrical systems. I have seen a few cases where the diode broke since they stick it inside the wiring harness. Any generic silicon diode rated for 10 amps will do as a replacement, polarity is important. Mike

It looks like only the ATV specific mounts are being discontinued, probably for the older models. I have the 2 inch receiver mount for mine so I can move it to different quads as needed. I only had to use this Tigertail a few times but it works great. Mike

Agreed, It probably got wet and that is why its not working. CDI's or any other electrical part does not need a flow of power to keep it good, pure bunk. I don't know about other model ATV's but Arctic Cat usually encases the CDI in epoxy so its impossible to repair them, too bad, because most of the parts inside would be cheap to replace such as diodes and capacitors. Once a CDI box gets to about 20 years old, it is common for the capacitors inside to fail, then you have no spark. Electrolytic capacitors typically only have a life of about 20 years before the plates break down inside (kinda like a battery) Mike

The flywheel magnet problem was common on years 2005-2007 models. He did not post the year of his machine. My first quad was a 2007 Arctic Cat and I did not have the problem. Guess I lucked out. It is something he needs to check as it can cause his symptoms. Mike

They will also be seeking public comment. Pennsylvania has more than 260 miles of ATV trails in state forests. The department is reviewing its policy to respond to increasing demands for riding opportunities and well as interest from local governments in expanding tourism. “The purpose of the policy is to provide guidance to DCNR when acquiring, developing and managing lands for ATV use by the public,” Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said. There had been a moratorium on new trail development, but the policy revisions now authorize DCNR to consider new ATV trails and connectors on state forest lands. “New ATV trails will be considered, while still balancing the protection of natural resources as outlined in the Environmental Rights Amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution, and the needs of all types of recreational users on DCNR lands,” Dunn said. In a 2016 survey of ATV users, more than 4,800 responded with many indicating a strong desire for more long-distance trails. Pennsylvania has around 285,000 registered ATVs. On state forest lands, ATV riding is allowed only on designated trails. Public comment will be taken at a meeting in Harrisburg Wednesday, January 22, from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 105 of the Rachel Carson State Office Building. I have seen this modification done on several quads. The marine grade battery is more tolerant of being drained low (heavy winch usage) and the charging system can recharge the battery, slower then a vehicle alternator, but it will do it. The cost is not that much different to put this battery on verses replacing the original. Wiring on this quad is not that complicated, even if its been hacked up, it can be repaired. Mike

The shackle was part of the cabling system that hoisted the cars up the incline plane. There is a series of historical pictures I had permission to post on my website, but all of the pictures are from after they converted to T-rail. Lost trail is only one of very few places where I can use my quad for exploring (which is handy to carry extra gear) I bought the drone a few months ago to help in abandoned railroad exploring, being able to photograph areas I cannot reach. Plus to have some fun. And yes, that is why my username is "mikeexplorer" 😁

Lost Trails is practically my back yard so I know the area well. All my machines are good to go, in the spring is when I do the most maintenance work on them to get them ready for riding season. Ill be going there in April sometime. I don't ride much in the winter since its ski season. My first planned ride there probably wouldn't be of interest to you since I will be going to do more exploring the riding. Last year I started mapping out the water works that brought water down from the lakes to the gravity plane steam engines. Some areas are grown in and cannot be walked or mapped. I plan to fly my drone over the areas taking pictures to fill in the missing areas I hope to make a map of the water line in comparison to the gravity planes. Later on I will be going there just to ride, once the growth comes back in which will make exploring impossible. Mike

Nice video, winter here has been terrible. Ski slopes are not that good right now. The snow in the trees is from snowmaking, They only got a few hours in before it warmed up.

First check the fan fuse to make sure its good. Your model is a liquid cooled so the sensor is mounted near the bottom of the radiator. Unplug it and with the key on, jump out the two pins on the wiring side and see if the fan comes on. If it does not, check to see if one pin has 12 volts to ground. Typically the fan is also a 2 pin plug, you can disconnect it and run 12 volts directly to the fan to check to make sure its good. There is also a diode in the circuit that prevents the fan from backfeeding into the wiring, this may have gone bad, on your model it shows it as an external part, on later models it was inside the wiring harness.
