  1. is the smoke white or bluish? i know yamaha likes the choke on cold days too. it is normal to have a little oil in the airbox, but not alot ... usually the vent hose from your airbox intake goes to underneath the fuel tank where another vent hose from the engine (crank) is connected ... this will explain oil in the airbox. i would say if its white smoke, its carb anf fuel related, blue could be rings or valve guides ... does the smoke smell of gas or oil or is it hard to tell the difference? did the bike smoke right after you had all this work done?

  7. it helps, it doesnt completely eliminate everything, but it can take out stress marks ... small scratches will somewhat be hidden ,,, i used a heat gun, only because i dont trust myself with a flame (LOL) but you can do damage to the plstics too if you leave it on one spot too long with either ...

  12. it might be that they are wired right, but not able to wire them the same as oem due to copyrights or pattens ... i never saw that i had to reverse the wires until a buddy looked at the little piece of paper that came with the stator, then we tried it and it worked ...
  13. i was able to poke the wires in the connector and rearrange them without destroying the connection ...
  14. well, on mine, there were 2 wires coming out of the engine, a red and white with a connector on the end. when the connection was met, the wires are red to red, white to white, i was told to switch the wires and after i did, i had spark ... maybe a longshot but worth a try ... did your instructions say anything about switching the wires?

  23. you dont have to, but you may need to tweak the air/fuel screw to tame the popping. most manufacturers of the exhaust will recommend a jetting kit for each application ... if you go on the fmf site and look up your machine and exhaust, there will be the recommended jetting kit ,,, you are probably popping now because of less fuel ...
  24. normally yes to rejet ... for the noticeable gain in hp ...
