2005 Yamaha Kodiak w/48" Berco Snowblower
oxidized_black replied to dctaz37's topic in General ATV Discussion
the set-up is probably ok, but the driveway, (if gravel) may have to be frozen. perhaps the guy that had it before had a paved driveway or did it while the driveway was frozen. i looked on the site, and it looks like a terrific unit !! if you never got a manual for it, go here Products - Manual / Parts List - BERCO Accessories for garden tractors and lawn, snowblower for ATV and UTV it may offer some tips too ...- 8 replies

oxidized_black replied to Meo9979's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
i think you are ok with the copper brush, i would use some rtv blue or black gasket maker along with the gasket you are getting. i would tend to use some carb cleaner or brake cleaner in an aerosol so it cleans and dries quickly ... -

i have always run a hotter plug in the Canadian winters ... if you use ngk, go down 1 number for the hotter plug, but remember to change it out when the warmer weather hits ...

it could be time for a rebuild on the carb, if you do take it apart, check the needle and seat at the float. i would soak the carb and blow it out with air too ... check and make sure all the vacuum lines are clear ... does this bike have the electric fuel pump?

if you dont want to tear the carb apart as a last resort, try putting seafoam cleaner in the tank and running it through, sounds like something is gummed up maybe ...
