    there is an air/fuel mix screw, mine is on or near the underneath of the carb, and an idle screw, usually quite big with a spring. alot of people will think it's either or a mix/fuel or idle screw, i know i did until i talked to cheriah here. that is all i can think of, usually the idle screw is suggested to be turned in all the way tight, then 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns out, then you adjust the fuel/air mix screw ....

    if you take the spark plug out and see if it's bright blue, the electrical should be ok. i would guess the carb is dirty and needs to be cleaned. float might not be seated properly or a jet is clogged ...

    might be valve seals ... have you done a compression check? does the smoke fade away after or can you still smell a bit of oil from the exhaust?
