? What are we looking at ? I mean I know what we are looking at but is there a problem ? Also that red wire in the background looks like it was pinched. The three whites are your stator coil wires. The blue and white stripe and red should be your pic up coil wires.

FYI fuel air mixture screw. Screw, washer, o ring, spring should be the right order.

Welcome to Quadcrazy! Nice job on the carburetor. I like to blow all the jets/ports out with air to be sure they are all clear. The o ring and washer is most likely for the air fuel screw. I set my carb at 1-3/4 turns out and it was perfect. But it was also varnished inside and had to go at it three times before it was properly free of junk. I never went near the main jet/needle clip setting because it was not needed since the bike was running good before it was stored. So go back to where it was. Then go back and triple check your cleaning of the carburetor and make sure it’s good.

That bike is perfect just the way it is. Maybe some shock covers (socks) that’s about it. Its sounds great, runs great.

The pick up coil is in the same area as the stator coil. It’s the blue and white wires. You have to test them. The regulator is near the battery under the seat or side plastic usually on the left side of the bike. Looks like an aluminum block with fins on it.

Yes I would def do that. Roll out at 6 am and be ready to go by the time they open.

When you changed the stator coil the new pick up was not with it? They are usually bundled and wired together. An intermittent spark usually is a loose connection, worn ignition contacts or an over heating part. Check the secondary ignition coil and the spark plug wire coming from it. I’ve seen pick up coils fail after they get hot and work after they cool down. I would go over all the connections, grounds etc and start there. Then get into the more invasive stuff. Wiggle the ignition key while it’s running. If the bike shuts down after a while be ready to test the pick up coil with an electrical tester to see if it’s getting hot and breaking down. Check the regulator/rectifier that’s it’s not getting hot or failing. Look up the spec in the electrical portion of the manual and it will tell you the numbers you should have on the tester.

You know for the first time I had the same thing happen this past weekend. EFI Rancher 420 started doing the same thing. In thought for sure it was a fuel delivery problem. Pulled the plug after I barley got the bike back to my truck. Turns out no spark. I took a shot and popped a new plug in and bang! Like new the bike ran great. Strange but simple fix thankfully.

Jacob!!!!!!!! How have you not followed and grasped the stator and kill switch testing yet???? You have been here for a while now and we have accomplished so much? I’m just playin!!!!!!!!! 😂 Ok first: the plug next to the headlight on them bikes was an accessory plug. The headlight was held in by a few rubber grommets that it came out of and had an extension cord to look take the light off and move around a few feet and that was an accessory plug. The cdi is very recognizable and should be in the front end under the plastics under the handle bars. Black and square with slightly rounded corners. Maybe 2x3 inches at max. No the oven won’t burn it so try it. It worked for me. I replaced it later on. Testing the stator: get a tester, set it on the ohms setting. It looks like an upside down horseshoe. Touch the two ends of the test leads together and you will see a reading or a ringing on the tester. That means you have “continuity” you have to find your kill switch wires and put the tester on the two wires and turn the switch on and off. You should get an open (no reading) when the switch is on and then a reading when it’s off (closed). Stator: tester on the same setting, unplug the stator and test the plug coming from the stator (three wires). Put the tester probes into each of the plug leads and see what you have. Each wire to wire should be equal and within what’s called out in the manual. You will have to check the manual for what’s spec. Second stator test: tester on the same ohms setting, put one probe from the tester into the plug on any of the three wires on the stator and the other lead to ground. You should NOT get a reading. Do this with all three wires. If you do get a reading on meter then the stator is no good.

It’s should not be more then 12 to 13 v at best. Maybe 14 but I would think that’s about it.

Good stuff. I can’t wait to get out there again. My oldest boy had a blast. Ordered new Go Pros today and mounts. Noting like having something to look back on.
