  1. My guess is the regulator or stator is putting out an over current condition and possibly burning the fuel pump out. Have you checked the voltage on the pump while the bike is running?
  2. Ok so the tank should not have paint in it and is maybe a rust layer that you see peeling. Take the tank off fill it with hot water and dawn dishwashing soap. Put the cap on shake it up good and then put the hose inside on a jet setting and try to angle it the best you can to blast off the crap as well as a metal flexible ruler that can act like a scraper when you bend it to reach in tough areas. Stator test is simple you know how to do that correct ? The stator could be rusted and in need of cleaning. My guess is cdi has gotten moisture inside. Preheat your oven to 225 deg and when the oven is up to temp and only when it gets up to temp put it in the oven and bake it for 10 min! Not a minute longer. Take it out of the oven and let cool. Plug it back in and give it a shot when it’s cool. Make sure everything is reconnected properly and check for spark. Double check your wiring, kill switch etc. The starter prob needs new brushes. Also get an inline gas filter before you run it in case any sh** is left over in the tank. And take the gas valve petcock apart and clean that as well.
  3. I’m miserable being back in the city this week. Can’t stop thinking about riding all weekend and being in the woods. Need to get out more.
  4. That’s some great stuff @mikeexplorer so you have obviously ridden there. How is it ? How far is that from where we rode this weekend? (Lost trails) it looks like a good place to check out.
  5. I don’t think arctic cat had vin # I thought they only did serial numbers. Is usually on the down tube of the frame where the wire harness is. That machine comes back as a 2000 year Also take a look at the frame left side above the muffler. See if anything is there.
  6. Welcome to Quadcrazy. Which model 250 are you getting ? Is it the wd utility type or racer ?
  7. You have to find the time. Just for a piece of mind. I’m sure your a busy person but sanity is found in the garage or shed! 😂🤣
  8. Well yes and no. The piston obviously blew and blasted the cylinder walls. If it’s not to bad you can bore it out and go a little bigger on the piston. Going to need a new jet kit for the carburetor as well. Now, if the cylinder is shot then you can possibly pick up a used cylinder maybe from eBay and go that route. Or buy an aftermarket cylinder set up. The metal parts that came off the piston went into the crank case. They can be flushed out. Also you have to check the main crank and bearing for play. Have you noticed anything else that’s possibly damaged as well?
  9. Son of a gunny! At it again. Great ride my man. Old man winter won’t let up blessing you with the white stuff. Great video. I need you to make a video with the soundtrack to the movie top gun! Between the pilot looking helmet and the top cam view it would work out great. 😂 Question: Summer time what do you do swap out the tracks for tires ? Or do you keep them all year round? Keep em coming @Gunny ! Ride safe.
  10. Very nice work @WFO @DKW keep it simple by keeping it Quadcrazy ! Someone on this forum will have an answer. Glad you guys figured it out and post some pics of the Suzuki ! Ride safe!
  11. Just happens to be my favorite food and just happens to be my birthday! I am definitely interested.
  12. Great pics! Looks like the fall is a good time to ride there. We are def going back. We have to finish the place since we didn’t do it all. I can’t begin to explain how many people were there and they all seem to be responsible people. We seen that same view of the train in that same spot. Great place to stop and tape it all in. The mud pits and water holes were a blast.
  13. Great pics @mikeexplorer looks like a blast was had! I have to make it up for a trip with you guys one weekend so keep us posted on any upcoming fundraisers or rides brother. We would love to join in if that’s ok. Love the pizza rack!
  14. To be sure about rubbing your going to have to collapse the suspension as much as you can then take a measurement form the center of the hub to the fender where the first contact would be. Then measure your potential wheel from center of wheel to edge of tire. Maybe a good ratchet strap or a come along to collapse the suspension to mimic how far the suspension will travel but be careful.
  15. I don’t think the video posted. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  16. The place was great. I agree with @06kfx440 it was cold and wet but a blast!!! We hit some deep sh**, the mud was crazy and that tunnel was really cool. We barely scratched the surface of the trails and can’t wait to go back when it’s a little warmer. The place has a dealership and a parts place of all brands on the way into the trails. Coincidence? NOT! Money maker and a life saver all in one. My bike acted up the first 5 min of being there. I needed a new plug and thought for sure I had one. Nope! Anyway walked right into the parts place and picked up a few. Professional, courteous and no price gouging. The place it a good time. I hope nobody screws it up! 2CF24C20-E8A2-47FE-8F8E-D097D7931F83.MOV
  17. Sounds like some nice process of elimination work👍🏻 Have you tried to swap out that relay just to eliminate that as a problem? Sometime it’s not the contact between the points but he relay armature itself that brings to two points together. They may not be coming in straight and making week contact.
  18. So here’s one more thing I wanted to mention. With the recon that I have. The plastics were faded. I worked in a body shop for years when I was young. I was always the guy they trusted to water sand and buff out paint without burning the paint on the car. So I tried to water sand the plastics on the recon with 1500 grit water sand paper and did so. The color came right back to new but you seen the sand paper marks. I tried to buff it out like a car and it just does not work. The sand paper marks would not budge. I eventually went to a 2000 grit paper and compound and got it to look about 90% and left it there. The plastics color is like new but they look like a car with all the swirls you see in the sun.
  19. Good morning ! Wakey wakey! Loos like a little rain and 38 deg! Good day for a ride!
  20. First off welcome to Quadcrazy! Can you edit your topic a little better and let us know the year make and model. This will help a lot in figuring out the problem. It could be a bad connection, or kill switch that’s malfunctioning. It could be a little deeper and be a stator coil or cdi box. You can do some testing on the bike to determine what’s going on as long as your handy with a tester. But let’s get the info on the bike first.
