  1. Thanks for the info @mikeexplorer . So the offset makes the bike wider ? I did order the lug/lug nuts.
  2. Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Been busy. Yes the head cover has to come off. Gas tank first. Loosen all the bolts on the top of the cover. You don’t have to remove the bolts just spin them all the way out so there not threaded any more. There are different size bolts so try to keep them where they belong in the head. The rocker arms come off with the head cover when you pull it. Before you do that on the left lower half of the engine there will be two plugs on the side of the engine cover. Screw type plugs that you have to unscrew. Be careful and used the proper screwdriver. A big flat headed will work. These plugs are easily stripped where the slot is. Take the screw plugs out and get a 17mm socket. That goes in the big hole center of the flywheel. The second small cover is to view the T mark for top dead center. Rotate the engine clockwise with the socket driver until you see the T. The can sprocket has a mark on it and a mark on the head. Check your timing chain for proper tension.
  3. Yea I’m kinda not pavement guy anyway but I’m going all in on this bi*** and setting her up right. And beefing up my sons 350 as well.
  4. Ok timing is the exact same as the bayou. Should be a mark on the cam sprocket and the head. The valves (clearance) I have to look at. You should be able to download the repair manual and look. If you have problems let me know and I will help with that. You should be able to determine if there’s oil in the head by looking Into the valve cover opening.
  5. Thanks @06kfx440 I’m excited. I just looked at the bikes and all looks good as far as fit up. Tomorrow morning I will pull the trigger.
  6. Ok so I think I made my mind up and going to go with a ITP Mega Mayhem tire. 27 inch and most likely up a 2” lift kit while I’m at it. Going to go with a SS rim black powder coated. Any objections/suggestions on a lift kit pros and cons ? Doing the same thing on my sons 350 but staying with a 25 inch tire maybe a 26. No lift needed and a little less aggressive tread. Got a great package deal of $1,575.00 for both sets mounted, lugs and lift kit for both bikes. Sound fair ?
  7. You can inject the grease but just put on a rubber glove and put it all around the fitting. I’m not so keen on making a hole in the rubber if it’s not needed. Also don't forget the differential fluids. How does it run and look ? Post a few pics. I’m a fan of the older bikes.
  8. @Ajmboy what size did you go up to ? No suspension work needed ? Did the bike feel higher?
  9. Thank you fellas I’m going to make a move by the end of the week and get something ordered. A little more research and I think I’m going to pull the trigger and then on to a small or low profile snorkel.
  10. So after I finally got out and rode some better trails and some mud time I have been seriously thinking about adding a better tire and rim. Bigger and better for mud as well as tough terrain. I have been looking around and can’t make my mind up. Im sure @mikeexplorer @Yamaha Grizzly @Gunny @06kfx440 @Ajmboy as well as many more members have opinions and more importantly a few different vendors that I can take a look at for pricing and availability! Im looking at a 25 inch tire as a maximum without having to lift it or do any suspension work. While I'm on the topic I’m interested in snorkels! Yes I'm (we as in my oldest boy) are thinking about going deep! Kinda hooked on the mudding, water and crazy trail riding.
  11. Hey Gary. Try to raise the wheels off of the ground and see if it goes in. Just curious.
  12. From each of the three wires. One at a time to ground you should get nothing. From wore to wire yes 300 + is acceptable.
  13. I would start by changing the oil, grease all fittings including the steering connections, tie rods etc. Then pull the differential fluids and change. They are often over looked. Maybe a fresh spark plug. Check the air pressure and you should be good to go.
  14. I remember when I was a kid riding my bicycle I would bunny hop onto the hood of the Fiero and ride over the car!
  15. Nice pic. You can buy the TPS calibration tool on amazon. It comes with multi tap plugs for several types of set ups.
  16. Wow what a mix! Lols like a drug cartels car collection 😂🤣 I see a few Datsun 280’z. Loved them cars.
  17. Did you get any reading from each wire to ground ?
  18. That’s good to know. Did you test from each wire to ground also ? Did you order a new one ?
  19. It’s basically the same set up just different bolt patters etc because it’s a different manufacture. But the system and functionality is the exact same. You can pull the valve covers and see if oil is flowing into the head while it’s running. If it’s a ticking sound I would think it’s more of a valve adjustment or oil. If it’s a slight knock then I would think it’s the cam journal. You can stick a Q tip into the head to see if it has oil inside. If so the it’s pumping up there. Then do the valve adjustment and go from there. Did you change the oil ?
  20. One other thing I want to mention. On that bayou 400 I had, the head had a knock. It turned out to be the cam journal. It was scored and worn. So check that also.
  21. Nice work. The kill switch needs to be tested by the two wires. Not one to ground. Tester has to go on both wires from kill switch. On ohms setting. Then move the switch from on to off. You should get a reading. The ticking could be a valve adjustment or poor oil flow to the head.
  22. That bike looks new in that video @Ajmboy Time flies is right brother. When are you goofing to join us for a ride ??
  23. Welcome to Quadcrazy Anthony! It all depends on what CC your going to run in. What you’ve ridden before and what upgrades you plan on having done. Are you looking to buy new or used ? For me I love Yamaha. I feel they have a great bike. Although suspension work and tires are key along with a good aftermarket exhaust right out of the gate are needed they make an overall fast bike. Second I like Kawasaki.
