when the bike is off after a run, put the meter on the battery and watch to see if it is dropping voltage ... there is also a 30 amp fuse under the seat that you could try to replace too ...

if you have a multi-meter, check the battery output when the bike is running ... maybe the stator or rectifier are failing to charge the battery ,,, output should be about 14.5 volts or higher i think

Sometimes unhooking the battery power overnight will reset everything back to default ... also try to disconnect the multipin to your display, clean it (if it was partially loose and water got in), lube with dielectric grease and make sure to plug it back in all the way. -
it sounds like the carb crapping out under the reverse load ... does it do this in forward too ? what do you mean about pushing it backwards ? is it that it doesnt want to go into the forward gear ?
