  3. i am thinking any Yamaha shifter will work, i think the ones that are designed are for specific bikes for clearances ... you might be able to have one fabricated pretty easy with your old one too ... here is what i found ...   6. I think mostly you need to get the float height to just over a 1/2 inch, and the air/fuel mix screw is all the way in then 2 1/2 turns out ... what year is your bike, i may have a service manual i can send you ...
  7. Im sure if you had an old one or the size of the shaft and you know what it looks like, you could go to a bearing shop, even Napa or the like and get one ... just because Yamaha doesnt offer it anymore, doesnt mean that it isnt made for another application ... just sayin

  9. I believe the headlight pod is bad for problems ... if you look on Polaris forums, a lot of problems relate back to the pod and once replaced, the problems vanish ... perhaps check ebay for a used one ...
  10. You should be ok with your stock set up and need no lift ... things you could do later is exhaust and rejet carb or programmer if EFI, they go hand in hand, and maybe later a clutch kit ...
  11. Run some seafoam through it ... sounds like carb problems ... double the dose, it wont hurt it ... make sure if there are vacuum lines on it that they are good
  12. You should have a place at the rear diff to put a ball for a trailer ... if you are looking for a snow plow and mount, get a mount that utilizes the rear hitch too, just a better set up in my opinion and it will help with stress on the frame ...
  13. The Can Ams are beasts ... prob the most factory HP out there ... could be expensive in parts though ... Think i would choose the Can Am but thats just me ... i still think of Polaris as a snowmobile, but the Can Am is a Bombardier, which make Ski-Doo LOL ... i know guys that own both and i can truly say the Can Am guys dont have any regrets ...
  14. bad solenoid or battery ... clean all the connections from battery to solenoid to starter with sand paper or wire brush ,,, if you arc a screwdriver across the solenoid, it will spark but should engage the starter ... something to try ... i think the starter button can come apart too, and clean those contacts ... after all the connections are clean you should dielectric grease them to stop any more corrosion

  17. float and needle could be stuck or out of sync (or maybe a vent line plugged) ... could also be valve lash is off ,,, if the airbox fills sitting, probably float, if you are trying to start it, probably valves
