I would de-grease the crankcase with some gunk and then try to pin point the leak. Are you registered at Polaris to view the parts manuals? Polaris ATV User Sign On Most manufacturer websites have some sort of parts section and manuals.

Good thread, it really is the season! Make sure you take lots of photos of your machine just in case you need to show it to the authorities. Some other solutions I've seen are here: Motorcycle Security, ATV and Trailer alarm & accessories. GPS - ATV Security - Bikebone
