  1. As far as jetting goes I took mine to a shop with a dyno to tune it in. Stay away from the stealer they don't know alot about anything aftermarket and you might void your waranty if you have one. Here are the dimensions from Highlifter: Transmission Top 1 3" to 2" rubber reducer (Home Depot) off top of tranny 1 long 90, one end has no neck, then 1 piece of 4 1/4" 2 inch PVC to a 2" by 2" rubber union (to aid in removing the carb at a later date. Tip from GWC), then 1 piece of 4 1/2" long 2" PVC to a 45, then 1 piece of 2" long 2" PVC to another 45, then 1 piece of 5 1/2" long 2" PVC to short 90, then Run straight up to desired height. Transmission Bottom Factory rubber boot to a 3" to 2" rubber reducer (Home Depot) off bottom of tranny. Used thin wall sewer drain 3" as the connector between the factory boot and reducer, then 2" long 2" PVC to long 90, then 1 3/4" long 2" PVC to short 90, then 3" long 2" PVC to long 90, then 1 1/2" long 2" PVC to a short 90, then Run up to desired height Engine Factory rubber turn upside down and insert 1 long 90 with no neck into end, then Run up to desired location. Other Tips Trimmed my plastic to make sure there was enough room to run up all pipes. Used lots of zip ties (best invention onthe world) Didn't get in a hurry and test fitted many times before I glued it together. Bottom tranny will install as one piece, so no need to worry if you nee to remove it after gluing it together. Might should consider treaded unions as the last piece so you can change out different snorkel heights. Have to cut one bracket to make the engine snorkel fit. Bent brake line bracket back to make everything fit easier.
  2. That's great I love when the girls show up the guys. I always get questions about the mods on my wife's ATV from guys thinking its mine. I love saying don't ask me she drives it. Great job Kristen that log section looked hard. Are all the axels still in one piece?
  3. BTT - what has everyone been upto? Is there any interest in a East Coast Arctic Cat ride? I know I can get at least 20 AC riders and have some cool places that would host it. Here is a vid of the latest ride we did with the cats. -by9qLGUpKs And then a poker run from this last saturday (With the Teryx) rKHnD3DGug0
  4. "You know that vest is done, please do not use it again" (from the last vid) LOL this guy is crazy. I can see testing pepper spray or a stun gun but a bullet proof vest at that close range?
  5. +1 Man I wish I lived closer that looks like a great time!
  6. The best way to to figure out the jetting is to first tape over the intake so the opening is smaller and see if this fixes the problem. If this works then you need to rejet. If not you can have a leak somewhere in the carb intake. Another check would be to hold your hand over the intake, check for suction and see if the engine stalls. Is the 08 EFI or Carb? If its carb you have to rejet and if its EFI look for a powercommander or something similar. Feel free to PM me with questions because now that the weather is nice I am riding alot more then visiting the forums. J I took the measurements from a post on highlifter from GWC a while ago but I kept dry fitting them until I got them the way I wanted. They are designed to be removed without having to remove the plastics. My Belt exhaust is up front some of the newer models are in the rear. But anyways here are some pics:
  7. I have never been there personally, but feedback from my friends was positive. I'm not sure how many miles of trails they have but I suggest calling them and ask about things you are looking for. I spoke with the owner before at another PA event and he was very friendly and talkative. We are planning a trip out there but are not to sure when. If we decide to go to Mud Nats next year that would be the extent of our summer trips. Maps of M&M are on their website Maps & Directions ATV UTV dirt bike quad riding trail trails safety mine underground pa camping RV resort membership gift rental also check youtube for some vids.
  8. Just because it was buried in a ride in pa post here is the info. This event is to be held at Mountain Ridge Trails Resort the same place that hosted Quadfest years ago. I think wind dig will be toned down version of quadfest or at least that is what they are aiming for. Not sure if the numbers will reach 5,000 like past years but I figure it's something to check out. Here is the information from the website: Mountain WindDig Family ATV Ride The WindDig Family ATV Ridewill be held July 16-17-18, 2010 at Mountain Ridge Trails Resort; It is an ATV exposition that is meant to provide an exciting weekend for ‘everything ATV.’ There will be ATV trail riding, skill events, a scavenger hunt, Saturday night entertainment, and motocross time trials along with a vendor show including OEM and dealerships in the area.
  9. Winddig is on: Mountain WindDig Family ATV Ride will anyone be thinking about going?
  10. We don't get down that way too much except for RAC. Centeral PA is where we usually ride. Just got back from whiskey springs and snow shoe is in the near future. Also check out: Tower City Michaux Sideling Hill Martin Hill It is rumored that the mountain will have a 'toned down" quad fest this year called "winddig". So far no confirmation.
  11. I think from Philly you are looking at around a 2 hour drive. State trails close at the end of the Month until Memorial Day.
  12. Yep that's correct. There are some exceptions but most cases if you are running fine a 1.5" air intake will keep you from rejetting if no exhaust work is done. Also the belt intake and exhaust should never be under 2". This is only for the autos.
  13. Sure I would be glad to help. Let us know a bit more information about your ATV. Is it auto or manual? 2" ABS pipe is usally used to snorkel the intakes. For the exhaust there is a mod to remove some of the restriction of the factory exhaust and then you can weld a flange on to run an exhaust snorkel. Because I have an aftermarket exhaust I used the flange on that. If you cange too much you will have to rejet but its no big deal. Here are some pics of my 07 H1 auto to give you some ideas. I was looking for a pic of the exhaust snorkel but can't find one. If your intrested let me know and I will get some pics and measurements.
  14. You can buy the pad material and make your own. My friend gets over 1000 miles out of his and mine with all the mud riding are lucky to see 400 miles. I started to take off the rims and wash the hub and brakes really well after every ride it seems to help some.
  15. What part of the state are you in? We ride at least twice a month and even more in the summer. If you live close your more than welcome to come along.
  16. I feel like an outcast with a Utility ATV, I thought there would be more for sure. The trikes are sick I am definately voting for one of them.
  17. The short time I was on QuadCrazy I have noticed everyone has been welcoming for the most part. I love to come online and see what is new here. Most will not treat you differently because of what ATV you ride. If you have respect for the site and those on it then they will return the same respect. I think that is true with any forum. Now I can never understand brand bashing. I think it is mainly due to the brand loyal guys getting upset when another manufacturer comes out with a better ATV than their brand. I constantly hear this on the trail and it gets annoying fast. The funny part is that the guys that brag the most are the ones I am pulling back to the trailer at the end of the day. Each manufacturer has their good points and bad.
  18. I added a few from PA to the trails section. If I get time later I will add all the state trails.
  19. I ride all over PA, the Mountain is opening sometime this spring for riding. SSRT is the best deal for the money.
  20. OK I'm in on this contest, not the best but I finally have a setup I like. Trail: Mud Lite XTR 27x9-12 Front and 27x11-12 Rear / Mud: Highlifter Outlaws 29.5x12-12 Front and Rear Sway Bar, Hockey Puck Mod, EBC Brakes and Rotors, 2" Snorkel, Black Magic Slip On, Exhaust Snorkel, Airdam Machined Primary, D Ring Tow Hook and Strap Auto Meter Temp and Volt Gauge, All Balls Wheel Bearings and Tie Rods, 4" PIAA Lights, Super-Bright Red LED Taillight Bulb F-1600: Tamarack Classic ATV Front Box w/ Speedrack Quick Release, Custom Graphics by Arctic FX, Hunter Green PowerMadd Star Series Handguards Herculiner on Racks, Bumpers, Snorkels, and Box, Circuit Breaker for Fan and Main, Coolant Overflow Tank Vented Near Pod, One-way Valve on Carb Drain 60-IN. AC Plow Blade - Modified, Remote Angle Control, and Winter Front
  21. What pressure do you have your tires set at. Is this climbing a hill or through an obstacle? Or are you riding on a flat area? 5 psi should be max if you have hop. Wheel hop sometimes can be avoided with throttle control. I would be off the gas as soon as it starts hopping. You can break an axel or blow a diff if you don't let off.
  22. This sounds like it will fix it. I also run sea foam through every other tank of gas. It keeps everything clean.
  23. I am going to see if my friend cleans them. He is able to swap out the leds to different colors and stuff. I know you can disassemble the display and clean the circuit board with contact cleaner. The display is a common problem on cats. If you want to try and e-mail my friend directly PM me and I will give you his contact info. I don't know if is against forum policy to post it in the thread.
  24. If he blew the head gasket wouldn't there be a sweet smell to the exhaust and also he would be low on antifreeze. Sometimes the water/condensation that sits in the exhaust evaporates on startup. The "white smoke" only lasts for a few seconds in this case. DD or Scott if I am off here help me out.
