Don't forget to check your thermostat. It is easy to remove and place in hot water to see if it opens. You can also check the temp of your radiator (non contact thermometer). If the radiator is not getting hot the fan sensor will never tell the fan to come on. Did you hook the fan up to 12v yet and see if it works? If the fan is broke you can get a replacement from any parts place for about $50.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust or any other aftermarket parts? Also check and see if the intake is intact and not allowing too much air to enter.

1998 Arctic Cat300 4x4 electrial problem
swampcat07 replied to mmsutton's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
OK where are the pics. I am not even sure if I have seen a 98 cat before. -
You can switch the diodes out with another in the fuse box to see if one is bad. The overide feature is exclusively for reverse. There is a way you can bypass the override switch if you are intrested but you should probally find the cause of your problem first.

I save the old stuff and use it in the lawn mower or chain saw mixed with some new gas.

Here is the link for the service manuals for some ACs Timber Pig posted on another site. I put it in a specific post but I think it may be more helpful as its own topic. K&T Parts House Lawn Mower Parts and Chain Saw & Trimmer Parts

There are two causes for this problem. The first is that the cable needs to be adjusted. Yes even though it is electronic there is a cable. Or two the electronic switch has water in it. In this case you can usually hear the switch cycle on and off after getting wet. The solution is to take it apart and reseal it just watch out for the spring mechanism.

2007 arctic cat 500 sputters and backfires!!!!!!!!!

Take off the rear plastics and the pod follow down the wires around the frame in the rear from the fuse block and where they rub the steering stem in the front. These are two common areas for the ignition wires to rub thru. Also look for leaks in your carb intake. Check the boot, your airbox etc. if it has a leak then it leans out your jetting. The fuel pump makes a loud clicking and you know if it is working. I had the same problem after going through a mudhole and I found out it was from getting water in the carb bowl drain. If you have any other questions post them here but also PM me because I am not online that much in the summer. I am very familiar with the 07-10 cats and am sure I can help. -
