  1. Sounds to me like you are missing the Starter relay!! I'd be looking for a wiring diagram for that machine, or see if someone else has the same machine and can snap a picture of the fuse area you are describing.
  2. I think it's the same setup as my 2002. The starter shaft has a one way bearing on it. I'm not sure how it turns over the motor internally(gears and eventually finding the crank.) but it still starts the engine, Sounds like a bad one-way. ( similar too a bendix without a helical drive shaft.) Try cleaning out the one way with some carb cleaner and re-mount it. If it screaems like crazy, you need a new 1-way and a seal to keep the oil from the crankcase out of the starter housing.
  3. Just the heat from welding onto the end of the bolt helped too loosen it's grip in the head.$45 is very cheap. Glad yah found a solution and will be back on the road.
  4. I vote belt or clutch issue.
  5. I Have ITP Mudlite Radials on mine but I need the agressive tread for plowing snow. I'm Very pleased with the ITP's so far. I'd suggest an ITP product.
  6. Check the cable too. Mine has a cable and a pedal for the rear brake. If the cable is hangining up it will hold the pedal down.
  7. Let us know how it works out.
  8. Sounds like a dead battery. Try jump starting it. Just because the battery shows 12v doesn't mean it has enough juice to crank the engine over. The best way to check a battery is with a battery tester, not a volt meter. That thing clicking is most likely the starter relay. I'm gonna bet 10:1 that it just needs a new battery.
  9. Yup, Something broke in the diff. What happens if you push it while running like that? If it does NOTHING different I'd suspect a broken pinion shaft. Time for a rebuild.
  10. I've wheelied my quad. It's heavy as hell, 4x4, and has plenty of power!! Did I mention it was strapped to a tree trunk in low range? I should have gotten pictures but I was on the seat. Got the stump out with a little effort. I might have to try it again on a new stump, just for the picture contest next month.
  11. Try unplugging the ignition switch itself. I've seen the copper bands seperate inside the switch but still work normal. If the wiring checks out ok and unplugging the switch fixes it, you need a new one.
  12. I'm still waiting for the master mod to find a manual for my machine.
  13. No luck on a 2002 LTF500F 4x4 eh? :-)
  14. I ran synthetic and dinosaur oil mixed in my sleds all the time. Didn't hurt the injector pump, foul plugs, or effect mileage. Alot of that is BS based on performance statistics and sales tactics. ANY oil is better than none @ all. I'd say run the oil tank as low as possible then fill it with the synthetic. I know quads might be a tad different because the intention is to be run in warm weather but I've never had a problem in the sleds. Try it!
  15. Dang, I don't see mine listed. I've been looking for a manual for it for 3 years.. 2002 Quadrunner LTF500F 4x4. I think it's when Suzuki transitioned to the Eiger. If you have some resources to possibly find one, I'd appreciate it. It looks like you have some good links.
  16. At&t Samsung Focus Smartphone, Windows 7 O.S. I love it . Had it for about 8 months and so far so good. I thought I'd like a Droid phone but I really like the windows phone platform.
  17. Hope yah get what yah need, as for shifting I'd suggest a new oil change and filter. Mine was VERY hard to shift when I first got it. I did a few oil changes and got the old dirty crap out of there and it shifts fine now. A little bit of maintinence goes a long way. Get some pics of your ride. I'd be interested to see how the mudflaps on yours are mounted.
  18. If it's like my Ltf-500F, all I can say is good luck. There are'nt alot of aftermarket parts for our machines. Quick note, If you do decide to make some homemade flaps keep your tire overhang in mind. Mine failed badly due to the tire actually going past the fender. You'll need to make up some brackets to keep the flaps from being drug on to the top of the rear tires. If you just want too replace the stockers, they are available but expensive as hell.
  19. Washed dirt and ice into the bearings? I'm not familiar with this machine but it sure sounds like something serious if you've gone into the clutch.
  20. Just a suggestion. I had a similar problem with my 02'...No start, acted like it was flooding, had great spark...It really had me stumped. Just for sh**s and giggles I swapped in a brand new plug and it fired right up. Just because you see a spark on the plug while its out doesn't mean it's sparking across the electrode where it's most needed in the combustion chamber. Just sharing an experience. I had mine tore down pretty bad and it ended up being a simple thing. It's worth a shot.
  21. I put a set of ITP Mudlight XTR radials on my quad and I'm totally satisfied. I mainly use my quad for utility purposes. ( Plow snow, pull a utility trailer, and drag large tree branches to the fire pile.) For general use and dirt trails they are overkill but Ive never gotten stuck in our old houses muddy as* trail. I dunno how effecient they would be for steer tires on a 2WD machine.
  22. My first suggestion is to check the choke cables! My 2002 had a choke issue that drove me nuts. I chased it down and it ended up being a darn locknut on the choke cabel elbows. Sometimes simple problems cause the worst problems.
  23. oil change/ filter, clean airbox and filter, rear end fluid, tire pressures. Grease obvious joints and plow mounts. Other than that my machine seems to be a happy camper. ( Now that I said that something will break.)
  24. Wow Dude......I missed something. How did you do that? I Broke 4 ribs 3 days before Christmas so I suppose the Percocet might be contributing to my memory loss.
  25. I have looked but around here there are not alot these running around. I'd love to find one with a blown motor with good body parts but they are not a common machine. I suspect nobody trashes them because of the indestructability. Plastics break, but these things are brutes! I want to make mine look better but so far no luck getting cheap parts.
