    http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/yamaha-atv-forum/11168-yamaha-atv-service-manuals.html post #3 has the manual for download there. carb issue - there's a rubber manifold (hose) coming out of the block and into the carb. could be cracked and/or torn. not sure how tough it is with the transfer case. do you think it's the wheel bearings when you are turning the bike?

    yes there are expensive, a coil could rule that out and not cost an arm and leg. if you have a buddy with a quad like yours, try theirs if you can ...

    could be just the coil then, you have power going to it but not to your plug ...

    are you getting fuel and do you spark at the plug?

    tried tested and true ... what more can i say honestly, 350's seem bulletproof from yamaha ....

    it's you on the bike, not them. having that gear will put you in your comfort zone. hey, you have kids and who pays the bills if you get hurt if you didn't have it on? i was off 3 weeks 2 years ago with a broken collar bone. didn't feel like going back to work, but, i was the bread winner and had my own insulating business and had nothing coming in. you do what you think is right !!! this reminds me of my philippine wife that came over to canada, to fort mcmurray, -40c all winter long. she was so much into fashion and wanted the most styleish outter wear, i said look, you dress with the butt ugliest coat/parka that keeps you warm, covers your butt, and don't worry about the metrosexuals in their designer clothes freezing their a$$es off. staying warm is number 1 priority ... stay safe angrybears !!!

    i remember when i was back in ontario, a friend of mine had a banshee and he said it was stupid fast !! i never realized they were a 2 stroke twin 350 ,,, and the parts look all nice and shiney too :woot:

    turn the key on but don't start the bike, and engage the 4wd button and listen if you hear the actuator. you might have gotten lucky and just had a connection pop out if nothing makes a sound (actuator).

    i believe the vinsons had transmission problems from the start. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but, from what i have been reading, suzuki offered a shift kit for troubled machines. some machines were hard to shift (non-automatics) and other problems included being stuck in a gear. it was an expensive job to do, so i think if it was me, i would be somewhat ok without it going into park and count my blessings that every other gear is working fine. i know it's best if the bike works properly, but the fix was about 1500 - 2000 bucks. is yours an automatic or toe shift ? ck1999_400ex might be a good guy to get ahold of here if no one else jumps in and gives a heads up.
