  1. the cdi might act that way, but before going out and buying a new one, check the valves for timing first, it might be as simple as that. do you think the valves have been adjusted before?
  2. even if the starter spins while it is out of the engine, it might not spin under a load. napa or an automotive shop can put the starter under a load to determine if it is bad. there is usually a junction where the battery cables come off the battery and go to the starter, the solenoid is there, along with a fuse or two.
  3. yes first time out ... bike wouldn't start for me so i started ripping apart carb, noticed i was missing a screw and washer, ordered it, just over a week to come in, installed it, fired right up LOL
  4. the only ones i have from this year is an 85 - 90 lt250 here ... and an 87 - 98 280 king quad (300) here ...

  10. are there any fuses by the solenoid? mine has 2 30amp. i thought the headlight pod will give some trouble too ...

  14. i think that there is a plastic part that connects the linkage at the gear selector and it sometimes wears out. thats the only thing i have heard before that fails ...

  16. probably a bad ground or a couple wires pinched together, check the harness around the handlebars ...
