  1. If everyone is wondering, i am building a Yamaha blaster with a 99 cr125 donor bike. I plan, if I can, to use the cr peg mounts and intagrate them on the quad. I want to also use the rear braking system. When I get my extended swingarm, the cr brake line will fit like it was ment to be there.
  2. I am looking for the inside measurements of a Honda trx250r footpeg mount. I want to be able to mount an IMS 250r peg into the bike mounts on my 99 cr125.
  3. How is the flow of gas from the petcock to the carb. Maybe it is partially plugged and not allowing sufficient flow to the carb. The bike maybe draining the bowl faster than it can refill it.
  4. You will want to run it to a switched power source. If you run it direct, you will drain the battery when it is in storage.
  5. Got the motor torn down the first time. Put a new cam in. New valve stem seals. All new gaskets. Put it back together and she fired right up. Ran like New, but, she burned oil. Took it back apart again to see what I may have done wrong. Noticed one of the piston rings upside down. Oops. Fixed that and reset the ring end gap position and put it back together. Fired her up and no smoke.....for a couple seconds and than it was back. Tore it back down again. This time I decided to lap the valve seats while it was apart again. Turns out, my intake valve seal was bad. Good thing I had another new set. Put the second new set in and reassembled the head. Put it back together one last time. Fired her up and no smoke. Runs like a dream. Get my modified banshee muffler welded up and she will be one quiet machine.
  6. Buy the kit to remove the tors. You will be much happier and you will have an easier carb to adjust. Well worth the money. Once the tors starts to go bad, they are hard to adjust and cost more to fix.
  7. I am a bit partial so I say kfx450. Kawasaki makes strong motor and a race ready frame. But that me.
  8. Have you checked all your grounds to be sure they haven't rusted? All your wire connections good? If you don't have a service manual, you should get one. You could have a weak spark, but its hard to tell without knowing all the values of the components and checking with a meter. Some valves need shims for adjustment and some have a nut you loosen and use a feeler gauge to check.
  9. Solvent is your enemy. If you soaked it in carb cleaner, chances are the internal seals inside your carb are shot. Bad gas cam also cause carb issues. Could be valve adjustment issues, stretched cam chain. Just a few ideas.
  10. Electrical gremlins are a nightmare to trace. I would check continuity at the switch and see if it maybe bad. The winch itself may have a bad motor. It may work fine but it also maybe drawing amps away from the solenoid causing the starter to malfunction. I'm leaning towards the switch myself but that's me.
