  1. This was a riding accident, I was launched from my quad into a tree at about 60mph. I am unsure what exactly happened because I was knocked out cold and my memory of the incident is hazy at best. I vaguely remember swerving to avoid another rider who I came up on from behind and he was going slow and I was hauling as*. I have a faint memory of upcoming trees, the next thing I remember is being loaded into an ambulence and hollering at my friend to make sure my quad was ok. So obviously this was an off the job injury, therefore, no light duty, no L&I and no re-training.
  2. That right there is going in my recliner trike.
  3. A few months ago, Stoopidbot had an accident and separated his shoulder. I had an accident last month that resulted in the exact same injury, a stage 3 shoulder separation along with a fracture in my scapula and 2 broken ribs. I have the exact same surgery scar on my right shoulder. It has been almost a month since the accident and 3 weeks since the surgery and I am a little worried that I am not going to be the same when I am healed. How is your shoulder doing Bot? Have you ridden since the accident, have you even gotten the quad back together? I am just wondering what the next month or two is going to be like. The doc said I could be back to work as early as Sept 1, but I don't see me doing too well with a jack hammer by then, judging by the way things feel now. I work on a 3 man utility service crew, and I don't have the luxury of sitting on a machine all day, so my job is very physical and requires alot of heavy work. There is a nice wad of scar tissue starting to form on the top of my collar bone, which is good according to doc, but he says I still have to be very careful because if I put too much stress on it, the sutures will rip, and I am back where I was before the surgery. Is one more month really going to make that much difference? Bot?
  4. If it isn't coming out of the overflow tube then it is probably clogged, I would check for that and a stuck float, as previously suggested, a worn float stopper or debris in the stopper seat. Until you get it figured out, turn the gas off when you aren't riding it, that should stop the fuel from running into the carb.
  5. Here is another site that sells Kazuma parts, they have the starter for the 650cc motor, they may have more of the stuff you need. http://www.kazumapartsonline.com/ If there is still things you can't find, I would call them, if they don't have the parts, they should at least be able to tell you where to get them.
  6. I have a similar problem with one of my quads, it has a CR 500 motor in it, and when that sucker kicks back, it feels like it is going to launch me over the front of the quad. I would try to lubricate all moving parts in the pull starter. If that doesn't work, I am guessing it would be best for your hand to replace any parts that seem to be getting worn, mainly the ratchet and it's return spring, and maybe the friction plate behind the ratchet and the funny looking friction spring.
  7. Electrical switches don't work when the contacts get too dirty. I can't tell you how many times I have fixed someones power windows or lights/blinkers just by taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts inside. If all the wiring seems ok, and power is getting to the key switch, but not coming out of it, try taking it apart and cleaning it up, or, just replace it. If power is coming out of the switch, check for power on the low current trigger wire at the solenoid. If there is power, the problem lies in the starter or solenoid. If there isn't power, then the problem is in the wire between the solenoid and the key switch. Good luck.
  8. Have you checked the valve lash? An external oil cooler helps keep engine temps down. You could also try running a cooler plug, it will allow more heat to dissipate from the combustion chamber.
  9. Not exactly sure what you are saying there, could you elaborate a bit please? From what I can understand it sounds like maybe a belt issue, but if you could give a little more info, it would help us help you.
  10. When you say you have a manual, do you mean the owners manual or an actual repair manual? Any decent repair manual will have basic necessary info like torque specs. If yours doesn't have it, you need to get a different one.
  11. I have occasionally had a gear whine come from my LT-R, but usually went away if I shifted into neutral let the clutch out and started over again. The noise would only start when downshifting. I have no audio on my PC at the moment so I couln't hear your vid. I just got this thing up and runnig a few weeks ago, had to completely wipe both hard drives and start from scratch so I don't have all my software installed yet. Good luck.
  12. I think that should do the trick, please let us know how it goes.
  13. The only time I have ever had that happen to me, it was a lawnmower and the flywheel key had sheared off so the ignition timing was off, causing the kick back. Is there another way to start the ATV? If so, does it run ok?
  14. Your best bet is to contact White Bros directly, they should be able to hook you up with the tuning guide that it came with. From what you are describing, it sounds like you are running a bit rich on the top end. The first thing I would do is check the air cleaner. As for the fuel controller, the first three modes should be for low, mid and high adjustment. Each one indicated by a different color led blinking. would start by dialing the high range setting back a little, see if it helps. You may need to back the mid range down a little too. If that makes things worse, then try adjusting them the other way. Just remember to make one change at a time, so you can keep track of what change did what. There will usually be three more settings after the standard low, mid and high, they should have blinking led lights at each end of the led strip. I would not mess too much with those until you know exactly which one they are. White Bros has been taken over by a company called Vance&Hines, here is a link to the site should you wish to contact them. Vance & Hines: Performance Exhaust Systems
  15. Wow, Foolio, I must say that was completely inappropriate (yes, I can go in and read the deleted post), and for the record, you definately stepped out of line first with your "f**k Honda it's all about the Raptor 700R" comment. Which, by the way only supports Stoopidbots theory about Raptor owners. This thread was not started for the purpose of brand bashing or making malicious insults toward people. Someone simply wanted some input because they were trying to decide what kind of machine they want to buy. There is never any need to be like that man, we are all here for the same reason, we all share a common hobby, lets not make enemies out of a silly difference in preference.
  16. Well, I would give the guy a call, get a rough idea of how much he is going to charge, and compare it against the cost of all those parts. I would say from looking at the plow, I could probably do it for $50-$75. That is at a rate of $25 an hour. I woud just remove the long part of the mounting bracket that comes on the blade and build a bracket that bolts in it's place on the plow and bolts to your bumper mounts. The handle may need to be manipulated a bit depending on where it ends up after it is mounted.
  17. If you can't get it loose with some penetrating lube, I think your only option is to start removing the rear axle and inspecting it from the inside. You can give the axle bearings a quick check by lifting the rear end off the ground and giving the axle a little wiggle, you should be able to detect a little movement if the bearings are toast or it could indicate that the axle nut is backing off.
  18. I respectfully disagree, while I don't find the Raptor to be as nimble as any 450, I do think that they make an excellent trail machine. Mostly because of the massive torque curve that makes it easy to lug the motor in tight conditions and not have to shift as much. Keep in mind, this opinion comes from someone that rides an LT-R primarily in the woods, and atmosphere for which it is definately not best suited. Also keep in mind, I don't like Raptors much at all, but I think they are a good machine, however I also believe overrated and just not my personal preference.
  19. Anything that can be reset should do so if you disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Does the machine have spark? Have you checked the compression?
  20. A bad pickup coil is not necessarily out of the question, sometimes when they are bad, they will only spark once or twice once the start button is released. They have a tendancy to act very strange when they go out. I would also take into consideration the advise that Ajmboy gave you, there could very well be a sensor or switch that is causing your problem.
  21. What happened? Have you checked the compression?
  22. Just for the record, I like what that guy has to say for the most part, but, Obama and Bush are about at the same level of f**K up to me. If they aren't too far the the left, they are too far to the right, neither is sane IMO.
